Given the boss's rank and status, indeed, average superiors wouldn't have the authority to command him. It's likely they didn't anticipate the task would end up in the boss's hands when they issued the order.
"Then just hand it over to Captain Lei." Lu Jin didn't like the idea of the boss personally protecting Ding Jiaqi either because Ding Jiaqi didn't deserve it.
"Even Lei Hao isn't obligated to her," Huo Beijiang finally spoke a fair word for Lei Hao, who would probably be moved to tears if he heard it.
