Chapter 98 - Chapter 98 - Hoshi wants to return the Favor

Sha's POV

"Also…" Hoshi said to Manuel directly, "…I want to return the favor para sa tulong mo sa akin at sa aking grupo sa paghanap ng aming hotel…"

We were surprised by his additional purpose in this mission.

"Woah!" Manuel said to him. "Talaga?"

Hoshi then nodded. "Yes, I will do anything for you guys to have peace and maka-move on sa kabilang buhay, or rather, sa langit."

He then stopped his line and thought, probably remembering something.

Hoshi's POV

This reminds me of an old K-drama show about a detective who can see ghosts, and one of his friends was the spirit of a high school girl. Hehe…I still loved it, even to this day. (Though back then, I didn't know what K-drama was, and I only watched it because it was quite interesting.)

After that, one of the ghosts came forward and asked if they had attended his church. Mariya and I then looked at him. "Huh?" Mariya asked back. "Anong simbahan?"

"The Alexandrian Evangelical Church of Quezon City po," the ghost replied.

 "Oh…" I responded, "…yeah, we did, ma'am."

"I was their deacon po, eh."

We were all surprised to hear that.

 "No way!" Croix responded.

"Siya yun?" one of his teammates asked.

 "No way!" Sha added.

"Yes, po," the dead deacon replied.

Understanding that, we felt bad for him and promised to do anything so he would also move on to heaven.

"Salamat po," the dead deacon, dressed in casual clothes by the time he died.

And so, all of us finally left the place and drove back to NBI's headquarters. Croix and his team reported the sightings of the ghosts of the victims to their superiors. By that time, I was quite determined to solve this case and put to rest the spirits so they would move on to the afterlife. Sha, Bokuto, and Taro volunteered as well.

Later, at the headquarters, we started to think of precautions while waiting for night to fall. Mario suggested writing an open letter to our country's current president, Simon Baños, regarding the case, though he knew that we needed to prove the suspects' involvement first before doing so. So, we postponed it after the case is solved.
