The engine flared to life while the door leading inside the big spaceship slid shut. As the vessel, or rather, the shuttle, finished warming up, with the blue of energy flushing through its whole being, it vibrated softly, and rose in the air, and the hatch at the back lowered its door.
It moved with deliberate calm that only showed how advanced the unmanned control was, making the safety belt around Lucas's group of four seemed like an unnecessary inconvenience in the more comfortable than expected seats they were occupying. From moving up, it shifted to moving backward, until it left the hold, and was greeted not by the dark space, but by the busy space station even bigger than the one in the vicinity of Path T2-316.
Through the windows at the front, the group saw a civilization that had truly stepped in the space faring era, not one just standing at its edge like Earth.
