The shock in the beautiful voice was palpable. The composure that held strong all the while, even as a façade, cracked. The pupils narrowed for a short moment, then the blue eyes turned wide, as they fixed themselves on Jack's smiling face.
Silence, during which Jack noticed things beyond his tunnel vision. Dead bodies, splatter of blood and flesh like life forms that had been crushed, signs of battle, of struggle that, now he could see it, had left tears on the blonde's off shoulder form-fitting suit, as well as on the skin exposed underneath.
Jack furrowed his brows. Those traces could not have been made by Lucas. He was too strong for anyone to have resisted if he had personally made a stop at the bridge of the spaceship, and even if that had not been the case, his style of doing things would have left traces different from what he was seeing.
Jack was interrupted by a question from the only other living being present:
"You… are really the General's guest?"
