Battleworld, in Batman's base, the light of the teleportation portal blinked as a figure in a suit stepped out. He was tall and strong, but had gray hair at the temples that most Batmen didn't have, his face not appearing old, yet his demeanor was more mature, and his expression was serious.
Outside the teleportation portal, two Batmen were already waiting for him. Primary Universe Batman stepped forward and shook hands with him. Then came the Big Adventure Batman. The three walked together towards the interior of the base.
"To be honest, inviting you was out of necessity. The information I sent you earlier already included a series of reports such as detection readings. The invasion of dark energy is indeed real, and choosing your universe as the beachhead is likely not without reason."
"I'm very sorry," Ben Bat said, "Perhaps they think I no longer have the ability to save the day."
Big Adventure Batman shook his head and said, "I fear that's not the case. Among the Multiverse, there are quite a few Batmen entering old age, not to mention aging is not the most severe predicament. If they just want to find a Batman in a weakened universe, then the Dark Multiverse would be the best choice."
Ben Bat frowned slightly, they sat down on the sofa. He crossed one leg over the other and said, "I don't know what's worth noting in my universe. Do you have any ideas?"
Primary Universe Batman and Big Adventure Batman exchanged glances, Primary Universe Batman spoke, "We have some guesses, but we can't tell you. Because knowledge is also a power, it might disturb your mind. This invasion of dark power is likely more inclined towards the Magic Side, mental state is particularly important."
"I think you've already encountered magic power," Big Adventure Batman said, "it's indeed quite wondrous, isn't it?"
"Yes, the magic power you provided me can even injure Superman in an instant. It's truly incredible. Is this kind of power commonly found in the cosmos?"
"That's right," Primary Universe Batman nodded, "Now, Batmen are focusing on overcoming how to obtain and utilize this power. It can reinforce the safety of our universe. But you have arrived at Battleworld quite late, catching up on the progress will be difficult."
"However, the crisis may erupt in my universe." Ben Bat frowned continuously, he said, "This is very pessimistic."
"We looked at your medical report," Big Adventure Batman said, "Your body's level of damage far exceeds our expectations, the solutions we prepared for adjusting your physical condition can't be used. Of course, I know you definitely didn't end up like this due to recklessness, you certainly have your difficulties, we just need to think of other ways."
Primary Universe Batman supported his forearms on his knees, leaning forward, and said, "There are two solutions now. Either we try using magic energy to repair your body; or we seek treatments from another Great World, they have significant breakthroughs in this aspect."
"Tell me more specifically," Ben Bat responded.
"The advantage of using magic for repairs is that it's fast. As a kind of universal energy, when acting on the human body, it can almost instantly repair fatal damage. However, since you've never absorbed such energy before, there might be some rejection reactions, consequences are unpredictable, there's a higher risk.
"If we employ another Great World's technology, as far as I know, there's a universe selling highly effective healing potions. The only issue is that the principle behind the potion partially references the lizard's self-repair ability. If used excessively, it might cause unknown mutation. Moreover, they charge a high price, if we use too much, we might not afford it."
"Sounds like neither option is ideal."
"These are just temporary measures," Big Adventure Batman said, "The biggest problem is that you're too injured, but we don't have more time to properly handle it."
"Let's not talk about this now." Ben Bat terminated the topic, he said, "Right now I want to know, besides helping me recover, do you have other measures to deal with the crisis?"
The two exchanged glances again. Primary Universe Batman said, "I've already sent over the equipment list, didn't you see it?"
Ben Bat shook his head and said, "I don't want conventional equipment."
"However..." Big Adventure Batman said a bit awkwardly, "With your physical condition, I'm afraid you can't use more aggressive equipment."
"Precisely because of my poor physical condition, I must use more aggressive equipment," Ben Bat said, "If I can't even unleash my remaining energy, that young Justice League in my universe couldn't possibly handle such a severe crisis."
"But I heard Superman already..."
"He's too young." Ben Bat lowered his gaze and said, "Instead of mastering his power and reshaping the world, he's still in the stage of exploring the world. This cannot be rushed."
The three fell silent for a moment. Primary Universe Batman spoke, "I think we could consult that one. He magically modified his Batmobile, and it's very effective, he should have already created a set of magically modified equipment..."
Big Adventure Batman knew he was referring to Arkham Batman. He nodded, preparing to open the Battleworld interface to contact Arkham Batman, but at this moment, Ben Bat looked at Primary Universe Batman and said, "You have a Hell Bat Armor."
Primary Universe Batman paused, Ben Bat continued, "The forum has pinned videos of the Multiverse War, I saw someone in the comments introducing the armor you wore in the final battle..."
"No way," Primary Universe Batman refused very decisively, he said, "I use magic energy to power that armor, but if you don't have experience in absorbing and using magic energy, what you can consume is only your vitality. With your current physical condition, wearing this thing is tantamount to suicide."
"I need the ultimate trump card," Ben Bat said, "Besides, even if driven by vitality, it's not entirely impossible to handle..."
Primary Universe Batman silently scrutinized him. Ben Bat seemed somewhat aged but didn't appear to have given up on himself, perhaps he truly had a way.
A tall battle armor flickering with red light was dragged out from the teleportation portal. Bruce stood at the center of the Batcave, inspecting this legendary "Hell Bat Armor," his eyes flashing an inexplicable glow.
He took out his phone and dialed a number. Shortly after, Shiller appeared at the entrance of the Batcave. Seeing the armor, he clicked his tongue in amazement.
"It seems this crisis must be really serious, or else Primary Universe Batman wouldn't have pulled out this big baby," Shiller said, circling the armor.
"Perhaps, some things start too late and end too soon," Bruce mused inexplicably, "If I could have designed and built such an armor at his age, many things wouldn't have happened, and I wouldn't feel so powerless."
"I think you might be getting the causality wrong," Shiller shook his head and said, "If you had that ability, you wouldn't need this armor, and things wouldn't have developed this way."
Bruce didn't refute but nodded instead, then he said, "Indeed. Let's not talk about that. We need to survive the current hurdle first. Do you have any good ideas?"
"It seems you're confident I have a way to get you into this armor."
"I've heard of your famous exploits in the Battleworld," Bruce turned to look at him and said, "Your deeds in my universe indeed live up to your reputation. Now, the stage is set, aren't you planning to let us see it?"
Shiller continued to look up at the armor and then said, "I do have a way. But as usual, you tell your plan, I tell mine."
"I've already secured the list of the Primary Universe Justice League members," Bruce walked over and tapped on the computer screen, which displayed information on several individuals. He said, "I'll recruit them one by one."
"How?"
"I know if I just appear out of nowhere in their lives, they probably won't agree."
"Are you planning to wait until monsters invade Earth, threatening their lives, and then persuade them?"
"What's the difference between that and Amanda?" Bruce turned around and said, "The way Clark decided to fight for Earth, so will they. I'm just older, but my brain still works just fine."
Shiller roughly understood what he planned to do and then said, "How much do you know about Greek Mythology?"
"You're talking about the Olympus Gods? Wonder Woman's homeland?"
"Correct."
"You must know a lot. First Ancient Egyptian Mythology, now Greek Mythology, you really enjoy working with these themes."
"Of course, because they are simple and effective. In Greek Mythology, what caused the conflict among Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite?"
Bruce slightly raised his eyes, "…The Golden Apple."
"The Golden Apple?" Diana frowned at the man in front of her. He picked up his coffee cup, took a sip, glanced at the crowd outside the café, and then said, "Why ask this all of a sudden?"
"The crisis is right before us. I think you're not confident enough that you can handle all enemies alone. If you want Batman to return to his peak, the Golden Apple is the best choice," Shiller said, looking at her.
"Return to his peak? You mean he isn't at his peak now??? Diana looked incredulous, "How much richer does he need to be? Buy the entire Earth?"
"It's not about money," Shiller said somewhat helplessly, "He used to be a Superhero with the world's brightest mind, but now he's trapped by injuries from his youth and the unavoidable aging, youth is gone."
Diana rubbed her cup, seemingly feeling a bit unsure. Shiller straightened up and then said, "If you want to learn more about him or about yourself, why not take a trip to the Battleworld?"
"…You're talking about that advertising trap?"
"The invitation was my design."
"Sorry."
Shiller shook his head and said, "I'm glad you consider it an advertising trap rather than something more deadly. I once considered strong-arming people in, pulling them in the moment they touched the invitation, but considering some people have stress disorders, I ultimately abandoned that radical approach."
"Then I think an advertising trap is quite fine," Diana said, "Skipping work without notice would get me fired. But, do you think I can go in and see, what would I see there?"
"Your counterpart, of course, they usually call each other sisters, and you're one of them. They can tell you more about Superheroes."
"Alright, I'm really curious what my counterparts in other universes look like," Diana said, "I hope we can get along."
"Afterwards, Batman should gather us to head to Wayne Manor," Shiller stood up and said, "It's time to unite, heroes."
