May sleeps through the rest of the afternoon after that brief trip down for some light food and to listen to the band. After she ate, she fell asleep on my arm again, and I carried her back to the room. She's tired enough that even my settling her in bed again didn't wake her.
It's a bit of an upgrade, though, as I'm free to sit in the room without being chained by her little hand on my sleeve. If I want, I can even slip out of the room...
But that's pushing my luck a bit.
As it is, I doze off a bit, sitting up in a seat watching the window and May. Never long enough to have any dreams I remember, but off and on through the afternoon enough that it feels quick.
Lucas and Celeste arrive at just about dusk. Roland does not. Wherever he is, he's clearly going to be out longer for it.
I can't really complain.
It's a long shot, but so are the palace records.
When Lucas walks into the room, he's carrying a surprisngly large bowl of some kind of sweet shaved ice.
