Chapter 26 - 26. Decisions and Interactions 3

I-volion was an ancient android, he saw the rise and fall of the greatest civilization among the stars, and with his fall came the apparent end for him and his kind. They are condemned to remain offline in bunkers and military stations forgotten underground for eternity.

Until he and his fellow creatures were reactivated by their last masters. Thanks to them, I-volion and his like had a purpose again, to help them preserve what was still left of the ancient civilization.

Slowly this objective was achieved but only to a certain extent, almost all the old installations were destroyed, others had their location purposely deleted, and thanks to the natural disasters that occurred, several of them were "relocated" to places that are difficult to access even for semi-indestructible androids. .

As the factories that created them no longer existed, and the materials that made them could no longer be obtained from such distant lands, it would still be considered fast if the ships took 500 years to arrive. They became valuable resources that would be better utilized helping to manage the facilities that had been recovered, as well as assisting in the research that their new master and his companions were carrying out, one of which was methods of creating new androids that were resistant to corrosion from both the Ruin , as well as Miasma and MATER radiation.

So far this research has only generated isolation methods that have been added to the remaining androids and there are some Navas versions not as tough or versatile as himself.

A few days ago, his master retired for a meeting with his long-time companions and left him responsible for taking care of 3 unusual creatures that somehow managed to survive and develop in the areas most contaminated by MATER, they even managed to pass through the area infested with mutants. (or as their master called it, the challenge runner) and reach the edges of their master's domain, these creatures were genetically similar to their former masters although this similarity was like comparing a human to a capuchin monkey.

Regardless of this, their master seemed to grow fond of them and while he was away he gave I-volion the responsibility for the safety and education of these beings. In reality, his master had only said to protect them, but I-volion believed that with knowledge everyone would have a greater chance of survival, after all, unlike his master who could literally know everything that happened in his domain and transport himself directly to a problem location.

I-volion did not have this capability and had to rely on its legs and thrusters to get to the places where its attention was needed. Naturally he was fast and could reach up to Mach-3 in 20 seconds, but even that did not guarantee that he could arrive in time in the case of an attack by mutants specialized in speed or stealth.

He then began to train and teach them the same way his database showed them that their former masters learned the best they could, but it soon became clear that the training method was unsuitable for these beings for several reasons, as well. as what could teach and they could satisfactorily understand that it was only 0.000001 of what was considered basic in the time of their teachers. I-volion ran several simulations to get the result he wanted but none seemed to be right even with a little help from Avant, his master's neural AI helped.

Soon a factor that he had not expected manifested itself, the fact that these beings were still afraid to trust him and his master, probably believing that they would be used and discarded quickly. This belief was understandable if he considered their point of view, however this hesitation was a considerable hindrance to his goal of helping them protect themselves and therefore his duty that his master had entrusted to him.

Carrying out new simulations, I-volion finally created a plan that had a high chance of success and that could even help its master in his interactions with these beings. By analyzing these beings and their closest settlements with the help of small stealthy drones, I-volion found that their cultural and technological level would be in a pre-natal state, comparable to that of humans from the Earth's Neolithic period.

With this as a basis and their master's display of power when they first met him, I-volion created a simple story that would encourage them to train and learn. He simply told them that their master was basically a God, who had saved them as part of the reward for passing his test.

Like all artificial intelligence, I-volion had to follow several protocols that formed the basis of its system and consciousness, one of them being total adherence to truth, which is why this explanation and slight manipulation was possible. After all, he didn't tell any lies, strictly speaking, from the point of view of these beings, their master could in fact be a God, he was a being much older than the first of their species, he had capabilities far above theirs, both physical and mental and even spiritually, he could come and go wherever he wanted in his area of influence and was fully aware of what was happening in that area, if not a God, what kind of other being could do this kind of thing?!

With this story their master could also convince them to willingly participate in his experiments (which I-volion had no doubt he would do), as long as they were not too invasive.

It would basically be like "killing two birds with one stone", wouldn't it?

From the fifth day to the seventh since they arrived, Movuya went through a lot, from the whirlwind of emotions with the expected but still shocking revelation, to the decision to simply stop thinking about something beyond his reach and focus on how to strengthen with the help of the silver guardian that the God Lauxiem (the best way Movuya could say Lucien's name) had left behind. As impassive and strange as the creature was, he was still one of the strongest beings Movuya had ever encountered, obviously excluding his master.

Movuya had no doubt that he alone would be able to defeat anyone from his former tribe or anyone from any other tribe, if not all the tribes at once. He had already tried to ask him to help him take revenge on the usurper and recover his clan but his answer was always the same.

"I will do it if my master deems it necessary for me to do so"

Movuya was not surprised by this, just as members of a clan could not eat before the chief gave permission, the silver creature would not help him unless his chief gave him permission. The obvious solution would be to ask or more specifically beg the great Lauxiem to allow him to learn from the silver being.

There were only two problems with this:

Movuya had no idea where the great Lauxiem was or when he would appear again. Movuya would have to ask his permission to be able to strengthen himself, which now that he was calmer, he realized how disrespectful he had been to Lauxiem, although he praised himself for even being able to say a word to this being.

Movuya's thoughts wandered between what to do when this opportunity arose and what he should do for the rest of the day, as he looked out the kitchen window where he was washing dishes, a strange thing where food was placed on top and then eaten with small swords and small four-pronged spears that I-volion forced them to use and then clean in running water that came out of the strange silver thing stuck in the wall. For Movuya this was something not very strange, wasn't it easier to just put the meat on the fire and then eat it?

This was the mentality he had initially, but after trying the food in this strange way that I-volion imposed, he discovered that the food was much tastier, the fat, the groove of the meat, everything became clearer and he could feel the energy of the food strengthening his body at the same time, naturally he believed that it had something to do with the great Lauxiem and the silver I-volion but he had no way of knowing what they did.

The only thing that Movuya, his mother and sister didn't understand until now was the need to use running water on these dishes, it wasn't like if they got dirty they would die, right? But I-volion was irreducible in this aspect and made the 3 take a break from cleaning, as they were being guests of a superior being in every way and yet being protected and fed by their guardian the least they could do was follow their rules, even if you don't understand them.

While finishing drying the dishes, the things where I-volion placed their food, Movuya felt before seeing him arrive, a pressure as if someone had placed a heavy animal's hide on his shoulders appeared and soon after he saw I-volion -volion who was standing guard near the edge of the clearing quickly move to the front of the "house".

He didn't need anyone to tell him what was happening and soon his mother and sister also came from the second floor and the three of them headed towards the door.

Just before the small staircase that led into the house was Him, the being who had saved them and given them a safe place to recover and who had appointed a protector for them.

The great God Lauxiem (Lucien).
