Chapter 3 - A Kingdoms Tale

Once upon a time. There was a Kingdom. The Kingdom had 3 kings, and the 3 kings had 3 daughters, and each daughter bore a prince.

The peace of the Kingdom was constantly threatened with an internal war. Each king hated one another, and each father took their anger out on their daughters; because of this, the little princes who once loved one another were forced to watch as their families suffered and eventually grew to never see each other.

Decades passed, and the princes had begun their own battle for the throne. The mysterious death of the 3 kings, which happened almost simultaneously, taught the Kingdom a lesson.

"Never again shall we allow 3 kings to sit at the throne." They all exclaimed.

The 3 princes, now much older, each having their own share of the nation, were at each others necks.

One prince had grown to become a diligent and respectful follower of the Lord, compassionate and kind, loving and generous, but what most people didn't know was that he was a man who loved killing and slaughter and had killed even his own mother. Those who really knew him said that he loved killing more than God.

The 2nd prince was an intelligent fellow, cunning and mischievous. He had the eyes of a serpent and the body of a large bear. His followers were his servants and his mother a slave. His share of the nation was filled with riches, and none were poor, and that is all we know of him.

The 3rd prince was a slothful man who enjoyed living leisurely and urged his people to do so. His people grew hungry and starving, and many of them turned to banditry and cursed the prince daily out of malice. His mother filled with grief, threw herself off the castle window, and died a gruesome death. The prince fed her body to the hungry people who had turned themselves into cannibals. The 3rd prince was a pitiful man who enjoyed spending his time with idle pleasure.

He sat on his throne, drinking and mumbling to himself. "This throne is too small, my wine tasteless!" He threw his cup to the ground, spilling the wine unto the floor.

His servants watched him, trying their best to hide their disgust. His most trusted squire knelt before him. "My Lord. You are a fool. You have destroyed the nation your father built and made waste of all we have. You have enjoyed all the pleasures there is to life and have shown no one compassion. Cursed art thou who sits on the throne may you forever burn and suffer."

Those were the last words of the squire, for he was killed by the foolish prince.

The prince was tired. Walking aimlessly as he lived alone in his solitary castle. Every day passed him by, and life seemed never changing. His people had left him, his joy had left him, and he did nothing to change it. Even when he was drastically losing weight, even when he couldn't fall asleep, he did nothing.

The prince was a foolish prince, but he hated boredom more than anything, and slowly and slowly, his idle days were eating into him until suddenly...

"...idle hands is the devils workshop. HahaHa. Only the devil can make work of idle hands." The prince had become insane; like a demon possessed and like a flowing wind, he laid waste to the entire Kingdom.

Malice spread.

Hatred,

Hunger,

Fear

And Sin.

It spread and spread. No one could stop the foolish prince as he laughed at the burning kingdom.

As the smoke filled the skies, he laughed and LAughed.

As his fellow man burned to the ground, he laUGHED and LAUGHED.

He hated the people who left him to suffer. So, he laughed when it all came to an end, and he too died in the sea of fire.

"I don't want to die." The first prince said as he bled to death.

"I'm sorry, Mother." The second prince said as the flames took his life.

The Kingdom of the people had come to an end, and nothing but ashes was left in its stead.

Idle hands had destroyed their home. An idle mind can make all men lose hope. The devil makes use of the best of men, and an idle man is the best den.

The Kingdom of Kings had come to an end, and I pray I never see it again.

This is the tale of 3 princes whose lives were filled with nothing but despair.
