[3rd POV]
Sitting at the lunch table with the group, Lucifer didn't have much time to start eating before Caroline began to ask the questions that had likely been on her mind for quite some time now. Which was the usual with Lucifer, getting asked frequent questions by those that didn't know much about her.
And she didn't mind answering them.
"So, Lucifer, what is it like being...you know, the devil?" Caroline asked, biting into her pasta as the Mikaelsons were off in their own little world, talking with one another, Rose joining them.
Alice and Lucifer let her, as they clearly saw that she wanted to get closer to the family of the girl that she was hopelessly in love with. As getting close to her mates family was incredibly important to her. And she hoped that Hope would get close to her family too.
"It's quite easy really. I don't actually do anything evil or act like this demonic entity that has to torture souls in hell. The only souls that are truly tortured are the true monsters that deserve it. So people like Stalin, Hitler, rapists, pedophiles, and things like that" Lucifer explained, before continuing.
"The normal folk that make stupid mistakes or do stupid things that get them there, are given the chance for repentance. It's sorta like therapy, but much more complicated, and takes many many years to get through. But once it is over, if they manage to repent, then they are offered the chance to either enter the cycle of rebirth or to join the halls of Heaven" Lucifer said, as the woman looked truly interested.
"So you don't like...burn people alive and stuff?"
"Only the monsters that deserve it, like I said. And I don't personally do anything, I have my demons do that for me" Lucifer responded, as the woman looked surpised.
"Wait, so you do have demons?"
"Oh yeah, I've got an incalculable amount of demons under my control, Caroline. As each hell that I rule over needs a monstrous amount of demons in order to keep them under control" Lucifer said nodding at her question, while Alice was listening silently in amusement.
"And how much is an incalculable amount?"
"It is such an amount that your human minds could not comprehend it. The closest number you have is a googolplex, and that is still smaller. There are more demons under my control then there are particles in this universe" Lucifer responded, the woman looking at her in awe, with even the Mikaelsons looking over upon hearing this.
"Pardon, but how the hell do you control all of them?" Klaus asked, genuinely curious as he looked at her.
"I'm Nigh-Omnipotent, Klaus. I am also the one true ruler of Hell. They quite literally cannot betray me, for I am their creator, their master, and their one true King. If they tried their very being would be destroyed in the most painful way imaginable" Lucifer explained, the man looking at her in slight awe.
She was truly incredible.
"But wait, I thought you're the Daughter of God? What does he think about that?" Hope asked with a tilt of her head in confusion.
"My father has already passed, Hope" Lucifer responded with a soft smile on her face.
"Wait what? You're saying God is dead? How is that even possible?" Caroline asked wide eyed as the others looked shocked with only Alice and Rose having sad smiles on their faces.
"He isn't truly dead, not yet. He is in a sort of...limbo, waiting for the time in which I will come back to him. And once that happens, he shall pass on his power to me, and I will become the next God. And by technicality, I already have become God. But in the a future, and more than likely I cannot interfere with the me at this moment, as that would more than likely cause problems. That or my father asked me not to" Lucifer responded.
"So you're like...already God at some point then?"
"Mmhmm, it's inevitable. Be it in a year, or in trillions of years. I will ascend sooner or later, and once that happens, my father truly shall pass on to the great beyond. Not much would really change, either way. As I am already so powerful that it is akin to being God. And I am already the ruler of Heaven and Hell, so all it would really do is make it so that I am infinite, I know the infinite, and I have infinite power" Lucifer responded with a shrug, biting into her chicken tender with a pleased sigh.
The food in Mystic Falls was truly great. Much better than she was anticipating.
"That is...incredible. So does that mean that Hope is going to be the daughter in law of God?" Caroline asked, as everyone went dead silent. Caroline just glanced around in confusion, as Hope's face went absolutely beat red in what was probably embarrassment.
"What? I thought you two were together? Since you two are like mates or what-O-Oh God I'm sorry!" Caroline exclaimed in horror as she saw the bright blush on Rose's cheeks and the blush of equal size on Hope's face.
That was soon changed into a face of horror of her own as Hope realized what Caroline had just admitted to. Not giving anyone a chance to say anything, she sprinted out of the room in a moment, moving much faster than you'd think she could.
While Lucifer just softly looked at her daughter, giving her a warm smile and a nod.
Seeing the comforting looks that her parents were giving her, Rose was a little surprised when she saw Hope's parents also motioning for her to go.
"Go ahead kid, I have a feeling that Caroline might have just helped you two. Because my God were you two so obvious" Klaus said with a grin as the girl blushed and ran off after Hope.
"I'm really really sorry" Caroline whispered, ashamed that she just totally outed them like that.
"It's fine, Caroline. Honestly what you did was probably a good thing. It would have gotten messy if any boy tried to flirt with Hope or Rose" Alice said, as Lucifer nodded.
"Rose probably would have gutted anyone that tried to flirt with Hope" Lucifer said.
"Hope would probably curse anyone that tried to flirt with Rose too" Hayley said giving her own nod in agreement.
"How long do you think we should take before checking up on them?" Alice asked with a grin on her face, as the others soon joined them, including Caroline.
"I say we give them a few minutes, at least until they can finally exclaim their feelings for one another. And then after that? We can go mess with our adorable daughters as much as we want!" Lucifer said with a wide grin, as the others joined her with little laughs of their own.
"You think we'll walk in on them kissing? If so I am totally snapping pictures! It'll be so cute!" Alice said, having her camera ready already. They'd never take pictures of anything beyond that though, but this was a case that it would be fine.
It would be fun to tease them over in the future.
"Oh definitely. And if you do get that photo, make sure to send it to us" Hayley said with a nod, while Klaus just smiled slightly. He hadn't felt so happy in a long long time, but now that his family was back with him, and his beloved mate...
He was beginning to finally heal the wounds on his heart that had grown over the years.
Sitting at the table, the group continued to talk about all sorts of things. While at the same time, Lucifer had only one thought on her mind.
'Go get your mate Rose...and try not to mess it up'
