Lynette Moreland slightly opened her mouth and stared blankly for quite a while. Coming back to her senses, she smiled, squeezed the bag containing the household register and marriage certificate with both hands, and said, "Since he's not here, then I'll go home first."
"Lynette, is there something you need to see him about? Tell me, I'll relay it to him, or you can call him directly."
"No need, it's nothing important," Lynette said, not staying any longer, her pace somewhat quick.
Returning home, Lynette fell onto the big bed as she entered the bedroom, throwing her arms over her eyes, the weight of her arms pressing on her eyeballs, causing a slight aching.
Evening.
Max Davies returned home exhausted, Mrs. Davies handed him a cup of milk, saying, "Lynette came looking for you early today, did she call you later?"
"No." Max's expression was indifferent, unlike before when mentioning Lynette would make him visibly happy.
