The tactic of feigned retreat, Max Davies had no intention of using it on Lynette Moreland.
Before leaving, Lynette Moreland saw him off. Under the moonlight, her face was exceptionally beautiful. Max Davies stared at her for a while and suddenly grasped her hands.
Lynette Moreland was startled and instinctively tried to pull her hands back.
Max Davies tightened his grip, "Lynette."
Lynette Moreland didn't look at him, nor did she further retract her hands. In her ears, Max Davies's probing voice rang out, "My mother asked someone to calculate it. June 6th is a good day, suitable for us to hold the wedding."
A silence ensued.
"Max, let's wait a bit longer. I'm... still not ready."
Even though Lynette Moreland's answer was within Max Davies's expectations, it still made him feel uncomfortable.
Max Davies looked down at Lynette Moreland's face, recalling Owen Moreland's words.
