"Thank you, Aunt Lucille!" Kris Cooper said, raising his face. "Aunt Lucille, who handled this case?"
Lucille pulled over a chair and sat beside him. "Well, that's quite the question. This case... Although I didn't personally handle it, it was very high-profile at the time, and our superiors took it very seriously, so I did look into it a few times."
By now, Lucille had long since risen from her initial role as a squad leader in the criminal investigation team, step by step, to her current position as Chief; consequently, she no longer handled many matters personally.
"So... were there any suspicious points at the time?"
"Suspicious points?" Lucille raised an eyebrow slightly. "What are you referring to?"
Kris Cooper's gaze fell on Walter Wave's photo in the case file. "Was it really a suicide?"
Lucille didn't immediately answer. Instead, she fixed a serious gaze on Kris Cooper.
"Why do you ask this?"
There's always a reason for things.
