Kris Cooper hung up the phone, placed his cell phone on the desk, then raised his fingers to gently pinch the bridge of his nose.
After typing the last line of code onto the screen, he sent the completed code to the company's technical department. He then stood up and took the fax from Singapore, which had just arrived, out of the drawer.
He walked to the window and gazed into the distance for a moment to rest his eyes. Then he looked down at the fax in his hand.
The expression on his face became grave as he read it.
The fax detailed all the information about Liliana Davis.
The first part wasn't particularly special, detailing the perseverance of a single mother. She was a divorced woman with a child who relentlessly struggled, doing everything she could, to work her way up to a ministerial position. It was a truly inspiring story.
The latter part was about her past, including a mention of her ex-husband, Brandy Leafcastle.
