Aurelia Wood smiled, "What could I be hiding from you? Stop overthinking."
There were some words she couldn't say...
Perhaps, Kevin's mother was right; saying it out loud would only bring him more pain.
It would be better for him to think she was a woman unworthy of his efforts, so he could forget her early and start his own brand-new life.
Kevin Gregory saw her reluctance to speak, so he stopped asking and smiled, "Are you hungry? You haven't had dinner yet, right?"
"What would you like to eat? I'll take you out to eat."
"But your health..." She was a bit worried, considering he wasn't fully recovered yet...
Kevin smiled and dismissed her concern, "I'm fine, it's not like we're doing anything strenuous, it's okay."
"Then wait for me, I'll go change my clothes and come down." Aurelia smiled and then turned around to run upstairs to change.
Kevin watched her back, the smile slowly fading, and worry appeared in his eyes.
