"Mr. Zuo, don't you usually appear to be quite bold?" His tone carried a faint trace of amusement.
Sofia Hamilton met his slightly mocking gaze and laughed, "Are you making fun of me?"
"I didn't say that."
"If I couldn't catch that, I'd be a fool."
As she spoke, a faint smile graced the corners of her lips.
Her mood strangely lightened, no longer as tense as before.
And her relaxation was exactly the effect Ryan Gregory wanted to achieve.
He curved his lips into a smile and deliberately said, "In my impression, you were never particularly brilliant anyway."
"Hey, Ryan Gregory, are you calling me stupid?"
She pretended to be angry as she questioned him, but at that moment, she heard the faint rustling of footsteps behind her.
Ryan reacted swiftly, pulling her behind him, his nerves tightening as he stared ahead.
There was a shadow!!
A fleeting shadow dashed by!
It flashed past the corner of the wall...
And the person, it seemed, could see them, watching them.
