When Julia's mother and sister saw Glades Horne carrying Julia in, they thought something had happened to her. They quickly stood up and rushed over, urgently asking, "Glades, what happened to Julia?"
Seeing the two women so anxious, the rest of the Horne family also came over upon hearing the commotion.
Ivan, who was playing in the Side Hall, ran out too. His small body wriggled in front of his mother, and he hugged Julia's legs, looking up at her with concern. "Mommy, what happened to you?" he asked.
Julia hurriedly explained that nothing was wrong with her; it was just that Aunt Adele had been overly concerned, which was why Glades had carried her into the house.
After hearing her explanation, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Ivan, where's Jimmy?" Julia picked up her son and asked gently.
