Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Breakup Call

The night was unusually silent. A cold breeze slipped through the half-open window, making the thin curtains move slowly in the darkness.

Aanya sat alone on the edge of her bed, staring at her phone. The room felt empty, yet strangely heavy—like something unseen was watching her.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

The caller ID showed the name she had been waiting for all day.

Arjun.

Her heart raced as she quickly answered the call.

"Hello?" she said softly.

For a moment, there was silence on the other side. Then Arjun's voice came, cold and distant.

"Aanya… we need to break up."

Her breath stopped.

"What…? What are you saying?" she whispered.

"I don't want to be with you anymore. Don't call me again. I'm leaving for Switzerland tonight for a business trip."

His words felt like sharp knives cutting through her chest.

"You can't do this," Aanya said, her voice trembling. "Not like this… Arjun, please listen—"

But the call ended.

The empty tone of the disconnected call echoed in the quiet room.

Aanya slowly walked to the window and sat beside it, staring into the dark street below. Minutes passed.

Her phone was still in her hand.

Finally, she dialed Arjun's number again.

When he answered, her voice sounded calm… strangely calm.

"Okay," she said softly. "If you really want to leave me… then I'll leave too."

"What are you talking about?" Arjun asked impatiently.

"Goodbye, Arjun," she whispered. "I'm going away from you forever."

The call disconnected.

Inside the dim room, Aanya slowly reached for the small knife lying on the table.

Moments later, she collapsed onto the bed.

The room fell silent again.

But the silence didn't last long.

The door suddenly burst open.

Arjun rushed inside, breathing heavily. His eyes widened in horror.

Aanya lay motionless on the bed.

There was blood everywhere.

But the knife… was gone.

"NO… AANYA!" he shouted.

His hands trembled as he grabbed a cloth and tried to wrap it around her wrist.

Her body was cold.

Her lips had turned pale blue.

"Aanya… please… wake up…" he whispered desperately.

But she didn't move.

Then something strange happened.

Behind him, near the ceiling, a faint red shadow slowly appeared—watching everything in silence.

Arjun didn't see it.

He was too busy trying to save the girl in his arms.

But the shadow was not alone.

Across the room, something else stood quietly.

Aanya.

Her soul.

She looked at her own lifeless body… and smiled.

Not with sadness.

But with a calm, mysterious smile.

As if she already knew what was about to happen next.

And above them all, the red shadow watched silently.

Waiting.

"But what Arjun didn't know… was that Aanya had already opened her eyes. 🖤
