"Glades, I'm scared."
Julia's legs were still trembling. She genuinely felt afraid, afraid that something terrible might happen to Rachel Bailey.
Glades Horne tightened his grip on her shoulders, softly consoling her. "Don't be afraid. The best doctors in the entire hospital are here; she'll be alright." He knew that as long as they found the cause of the postpartum hemorrhage and stopped the bleeding, she would be fine.
Julia leaned into Glades's embrace, listening to his consolations. Although her heart settled a bit, it still felt suspended high in her chest.
Hansen Ruiz didn't even need to be mentioned. The usually calm and steady man now paced restlessly back and forth outside the Emergency Room like an ant on a hot pan. The joy of just becoming a father had been completely washed away by worry and fear. What would he do if something happened to Rachel? What about his daughter? If Rachel... No, it couldn't be. She wouldn't have any problems.
