Chapter 3
Izuku dodges another punch and counters with one of his own, making the last clone dispel in a puff of smoke as Izuku sits on the ground.
It has been three years since Kurama entered his life, and many things have changed.
The main one is that Izuku got a lot stronger than before, after he managed to learn the Fire Ball Jutsu and the Rasengan, Kurama taught him a bit more of the chakra elements and seeing the rasengan as an inspiration, Izuku tried to create something similar with differents elements, and he succeded in creating a jutsu with lighting element, Kurama told him to name it Chidori and Izuku thought the name fit well.
But Izuku still favors the rasengan over the chidori since it is a very lethal technique and avoids using it, and after messing with his chakra, he and Kurama managed to create another jutsu called Wind Style: Great Breakthrough, it is a pretty powerful jutsu, especially when Izuku uses his shadow clones with it.
Izuku also tried to create other variations of rasengan, he learned a more powerful rasengan that he decided to call Great Rasengan, and Izuku learned that when combining the rasengan and Kurama chakra, he creates a stronger rasengan which was purple instead of the normal blue, not to mention that he didn't need the use of the clones to do it.
Kurama also taught him a more powerful version of the Shadow Clones that is the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu, it takes a toll on his reserves but thanks to Kurama, he can use a lot of clones and the good thing is that all of his clones can use his jutsus, meaning that they can do a lot of damage if they all use the fireball jutsu or rasengan.
Kurama also taught him a healing jutsu, it was hard to learn since it required a very good control of chakra but Izuku managed to learn it in a few days thanks to his clones.
And after training a lot, Izuku managed to use something that Kurama called Demon fox cloak, which allows him to use Kurama chakra and cloak himself on it, creating a red chakra cloak with fox ears and tails, the more tails the stronger it is, but unfortunaly he can only control two tails.
Something that also changed was Izuku himself, he no longer is the shy and scared boy he was at Aldera, thanks to Kurama and Uraraka, he became more confident and brave, sure, he still is the same kind boy that he always was, but he no longer fears standing up to bullies and will fight back.
That is also the reason that he and Uraraka are loved by their school, while the teachers doesn't allow bullying and will stop them if told or seen, the bullying still happens around the school, and when they see someone getting bullied, they would step in and stop it, but would always avoiding fighting if possible.
That, and the fact that they love to help everyone they can when they have trouble with a subject or other, made them very popular at their school.
Not to mention how Izuku and Kurama relationship improved, they became more friendly to each other and Izuku would always talk with the fox if he wasn't sleeping, sure, Kurama likes to tease Izuku if the chance arrives and they always bicker with each other, but he does respect the boy and his determination (not that he would ever admit it) up to the point that he told Izuku his name, which Izuku was surprised but was happy that he finally had the true name of his partner.
And after training his jutsus, Kurama told him to train his hand to hand combat, and since he doesn't have anyone to spar with, he uses his shadow clones, and to make up for the fact that they dispels in one hit he creates lot of them, and his objective is to defeat them all without any use of chakra.
At first Izuku would take quite a beating since he never trained a fighting style, thanks to the healing jutsu and Kurama healing, he was able to hide his training injuries from his mother, while she trusts him and Kurama, she still worries about him and if he arrives at home with injuries then it would be a bit harder to train.
But after each fight with his clones and training his fighting style,he became more experienced, and now it was the first time he managed to defeat all of his clones, he falls on the ground and lies there while Kurama heals him.
"(Took you long enough, i was tired of seeing that one-sided beating.)" Izuku eye twitches in anger.
"(One-sided beating ?! Try to beat 15 clones without any training in hand to hand !)"
"(I could do it with a flick of my tail.)"
"(That's because you are a gigant furball.)" This time it was Kurama who twitched his eye in anger.
"(What did you say broccoli head ?)"
"(Exactly what you heard furball)" Kurama growls but didn't say anything else, while he prefers this Izuku instead of the shy and scardy cat, he knows how to test his patience.
Izuku smiles and reflects on everything that happened until now, three years ago he was a quirkless boy who could only dream, but now he is on his way to become a hero with his partner on his side.
Kurama voice snaps him out of his thoughts "(Better getting moving on, it's getting late and you have school.)" Izuku gulps, he forgot about the time, he hopes his mother wouldn't scold him.
"Hey Izuku, did you saw how Thirtheen rescued those civilians yesterday ?" Uraraka asks, something that Izuku found out was that she loved heroes, especially Thirtheen and when he found out they started to talk about every rescue Thirtheen did.
Izuku nods "Yeah ! I remember reading that a villain fought against Present Mic and Thirtheen helped to rescue the civilians that were trapped due to the villain quirk."
Uraraka nods "They are a really awesome hero, it's a shame that they aren't well known like Ingenium and the others."
Izuku nods "Yeah, rescue heroes aren't very popular if we compare them to heroes like Ryuukyu or Kamui Woods since the media focus more on those who fight than those who rescue."
The bell snaps Izuku and Uraraka from their talking and they both bid farewell to each other as Izuku makes his way to home.
All while Kurama is left to his thought about his Jinchuuriki training and that Tailed Beast Hagoromo warned him.
'Didn't got even a wisp of chakra or negative feelings all those years, and Izuku isn't ready yet, he still has a long way to go.' Truth to be told, Kurama thought on teaching him a few things that Naruto and his others jinchuuriki knew, mainly Senjutsu but he quickly shot down that idea, just by seeing Naruto and Minato using senjutsu doesn't means that Kurama is a master on teaching Senjutsu, not to mention that he doesn't have that stick that takes away the natural energy, and Kurama doesn't want his container to become a frog statue, he hopes that his chakra will be enough.
Another thing was the Adamantine Chains, something that Kushina was a master, but unfortunaly only the Uzumaki clan could use them, and he can't even try and teach him the Hiraishin since Minato never told him how he mastered that jutsu.
Kurama sighs, at least he can teach the kid about the explosive tags and since Izuku have a good affinity to wind he can learn the Rasenshuriken, not to mention that the kid managed to re-create the chidori and learn the great breakthrough, but he doesn't seems to have a good affinity for earth or water, but having three elemental affinity already is a good thing.
'But still, maybe the old man could have given me some scrolls or something to teach the kid, maybe even a way to teach him the senjutsu or the staff that drains the senjutsu chakra, damm it.'
When the time to train arrived, Kurama told him about something called explosive tags, Kurama told him it would be useful when he starts to use kunais and shurikens.
By writting the kanji 'baku' on a piece of paper and infusing it with chakra, Izuku could create the explosive tags, and using the snake seal or using fire, he could activate it and would create an explosion after a while.
It is pretty useful since he could create and detonate a lot of them at the same time, and it is a good way to cause damage without using his chakra reserves, but...
"AGH !" Izuku yelps as he got throw in a tree again by the explosion of the tag, his cuts already healing due to the passive regeneration.
Kurama forgot to tell him that it wasn't something easy to create, one mistake in the kanji or too much chakra infused would make the paper detonate itself.
"(Too much chakra now, want to go home today ? You are on this for hours.)" Izuku sighs, he wanted to finish this today, but Kurama is right, better rest and try tomorrow.
Izuku decided to use Shunshin since there is no one looking, and truth to be said, Izuku loves using this jutsu.
Kurama reflects on what to do now, the kid managed to create a functional paper tag after two days, sure, he still messes up one or another but soon enough it will become a second nature for him.
His Taijutsu isn't the best but it is something thanks to fighting the clones, he still has two years to be able to take on that entrace exams or something.
It would be wise to try and look around for clues for the Tailed Beast right now, but unfortunaly it isn't so easy like that.
In his old world, this would be the age for him to be sent on missions and other things, and even fight thiefs around the village was allowed as long as you don't cause too much destruction, but here it's a crime to fight without being a pro hero or something, which is bullshit in the fox opinion, but differents worlds, differents rules.
Vigilantism is what they call that, technically, Izuku couldn't be a vigilant since chakra isn't exactly a quirk, but unless he tells the kid everything about him, he is considered a quirk to him.
It would be hard, but Izuku could be a vigilant, leaving a shadow clone on the house and using a bit of transformation jutsu, it's perfect.
But Izuku wouldn't be able to use his jutsus, someone would just connect the dots and find out that Izuku is the vigilant.
Izuku would just have to use his Taijutsu and the passive regeneration, and considering that his taijutsu isn't too good...
Well, worse came to worse, he could always use his chakra, now it's only whenever the kid would accept or not.
"(Hey kid, i got a question for you.)" Izuku was surprised to hear Kurama voice, at this time he would expect him to be asleep.
"(Sure, what are them ?)"
"(You do want to be a hero, right ?)" Izuku nods.
"(And if you saw someone in danger you would help them, screw the rules, right ?)" Another nod.
"(And at night, there are a lot of crimes going around, and the heroes can't be everywhere, right ?)" Izuku frowns, Kurama isn't suggesting that... is he ?
"(Kurama, are you talking about vigilantism ?)" His silence only confirms it.
"(Are you crazy ?! if someone catch me then it would be the end of my dream of being a hero ! not to mention that someone would connect the dots about my jutsus !)"Kurama sighs, he already expected that the kid would react like that.
"(You don't have to use your jutsus to fight, only leave a shadow clone in your house and use a bit of transformation jutsu, you can just fight with your hand to hand skills.)"
"(B-but my hand skills aren't good ! Not to mention that i don't even have a good costume to hide my face.)"
"(Just use a hood, the transformation jutsu will do the rest, and remember about my passive healing, and if it comes to it you can use a bit of my chakra.)"
Kurama makes some good points but still "(No matter what you say, i won't become a vigilant.)"
"(I hate you)" Izuku says as he nervously adjust his hood, making sure that he is covering his face.
"(What ? I just said that many people that could've been saved by you would suffer, many kids, womans, mans, even heroes that were on a tight situation and their assaltants would-)" "(Ok ok i get it !)"
Izuku sighs, at least the shadow clone would make a good allibi to him and the transformation jutsu would keep his identity safe.
He used the jutsu to change his hair to blue and his eyes to red while taking away the slits, and he also transformed his height, being the same height as someone with 17 years and he took away his freckles, Izuku thought on transforming on someone else but if his face got exposed, it would cause problems for the real person, thankfully he can change some things on his body.
Izuku also had a plan to find out the criminals, Kurama told him that he can feel negative feelings, by using that he can find where a crime is happening, using chakra to do jump from buildings.
Kurama already felt some negative feelings and tells Izuku where to go.
Arriving at the place, Izuku could see that four men were corning a woman, all of them had knifes and Izuku didn't saw any signs of mutation quirk, he needs to be careful since they could be hiding their quirks.
"Cmon girly, we can do this the easy way or the hard way, either way you are going to give us what we want, and maybe a bit of fun too." That comment made Kurama and Izuku grimace in disgust.
Izuku quickly makes himself known "Hey ! You four, leave her alone !" The four turn to Izuku, who starts to lose his confidence on himself.
"Oh ? Trying to play the hero ? Get lost kid ! But i'm feeling rather generous now, if you turn around and leave right now then we can pretend that this never happened." One of them said with a tone of arrogance, making Kurama growl.
And Izuku couldn't supress a flinch, this isn't some sort of bullying like before, this is the real deal, one mistake and it's over, can he really do this without even using his jutsus ?
"(Why are you hesitating ?!)" Kurama voice snaps him out of his thoughts.
"(Don't you want to be a hero ?! Wasn't that your dream your whole life ?! And now that you have the chance to save someone you are hesitating ?!)" Izuku clenches his fist, but Kurama isn't finished yet.
"(Look at the woman face)" Izuku does as Kurama told and look at the woman.
She had light-brown hair that reaches below her shoulders, brown eyes and her cheeks have a lighly blush on them, her eyes are wide and in fear, but despite that Izuku saw a little of hope at directed at him.
"(That woman surely have a family, and there are no other heroes around, so stop being a scardy cat and be the hero she needs you to be !)" With that said, Izuku nods, his determination to help her takes place of the fear and he takes a stance to fight, the one who told him to ran away run up to him with his knife ready to stab Izuku.
"I told you to run, and now you are going to pay you brat !" Izuku dodges the stab and throws a punch at the thief face, the strike made the thief get knocked in the wall and pass out.
Something that Kurama told him was that because of his chakra pathways, he is stronger than a normal human, and the more he trains his stamina, the stronger his punchs will be.
"Damn an strength type quirk ?! Fuck !" The second one shouts and the three remaining thief tries to attack him at the same time, luckily, Izuku had experience with that since his clones also tried to do the same.
He jumps over the three and hits the back of the neck of one of them, knocking the second out.
"D-damn it ! You are going to pay for that !" As he said that, Izuku saw sparks appearing on his hand while the other gathered some fire on his hand, the one with electric quirk rushes at him with a right hook.
Izuku dodges to the left but the villain with fire quirk threw the fire at him.
Izuku curses and uses one of his arms to block it and he hisses at the pain.
The two thugs smirks at him "Whats the matter, can't handle the heat ?" Their smirks fell as they saw Izuku arm healing.
They didn't have time to wonder about it since the one with sparks saw Izuku ran to him and he tried a right hook again but Izuku dodged and threw a punch at him, knocking him out.
The last villain curses Izuku and ran away, Kurama snorts at the coward.
"(Let him run, focus on the woman.)" Izuku nods and looks at the woman and raises his hand to try and show her that he won't harm her.
"It's okay, i'm here to help you, okay ?" Izuku himself is surprised at how he isn't freaking out at everything he did, but he believes that later he will freak out.
"T-thank you, t-thank you so much, are y-you a hero ?" Izuku shakes his head and smiles.
"No ma'am, i just wanted to help." The woman gaves him a shaky smile.
"Do you have your phone ? You should call the police, i will wait with you as they arrive." The woman nods and Izuku sits on the ground.
Now that he isn't focusing on his enemies, he can see that the woman is very familiar, her hair and eyes, even the blush in her cheeks are very familiar.
"S-so, um, h-how old are you ?" The woman tried to make a small talk while the police doesn't arrive and Izuku smiles.
"I am 17 years old." Izuku feels bad for lying but he can't exactly tell her that he is 13 years old with the appearence of a 17 years old.
She nods and look at his arm who got hit "I-is your arm ok, d-does it still hurts ?" Izuku looks at his arm, the fabric is burned off but thanks to Kurama he doesn't have a single scar.
"It's fine, don't worry." The woman nods, and when she hears the sound of the police she smiles.
"T-Thank you Mr-" When she looked to where he was, he already disappeared, was it his quirk ?
Izuku sees the woman going with the police with a smile.
"(You know, it was a bit risky to use the Shunshin.)"
"(Yeah, but i needed to leave fast and walking on the wall would be more risker.)" He hears Kurama hums in affirmation.
"(Hey Kurama... thank you for what you said before, i really needed that.)"
"(Don't sweat it, i just said the truth, you can't freeze when lives are on the line.)" Izuku nods and now he is even more sure that he wants to become a hero.
The feeling of knowing that she can smile and be happy with her family thanks to him, there is nothing better than that.
"(Kid, i'm feeling another spark of negative feeling, ready ?)" Izuku nods and adjusts his hood before following Kurama instructions.
The next day, Uraraka runs up to Izuku with an excited expression "Izuku ! Izuku ! Did you read about a new vigilant ?"
Izuku chokes on his food, thankfully Uraraka didn't saw that in her excitment while talking about the vigilant, Kurama snorts at his Jinchuuriki.
"A-A new vigilant ? No... i didn't saw anything." Izuku didn't expected that he would be known due to one patrol !
Uraraka nods "My mom told me about him, he seems to be 17 years old and has a strange quirk ! He saved my mom from some bandits and even waited with her for the cops to arrive !"
"(She was Uraraka mom ?!)" Despite the fact that he is shocked about that fact, he can't help but feel happy, because of what he did, a mother had gone back to her daugher safely.
"(Don't need to thank me about that.)" Izuku ignores the biju commentary to focus on Uraraka.
"S-so, what do you think of that vigilant ?" Urakaka pauses to think about it, vigilantism IS a crime, but what her mom said about what happened and the fear that she was feeling, and Uraraka can't even think about what would happen if that vigilant didn't appeared.
"I guess... that he is a hero for me !" She says with a big smile and Izuku beames at her and blushes, even though she didn't knew, she was talking about him and being called a hero... it's incredible !
"(Tone it down kid, you use the hood and the transformation jutsu for a reason.)"
Izuku nods and they talk a bit more about the vigilant and what could be his quirk and what name he would get when the midia get something about him.
While Izuku and Uraraka happily talks, Kurama thinks about the next thing to do, paper tags already is done.
'Rasenshuriken maybe ? Hmmm it's a good idea, genjutsu would be a waste of time since no one here got chakra and even if that Tailed Beast was vulnerable to it, it would be hard thanks to the kid being a jinchuuriki, but he still needs to learn how to use shurikens and kunais, ah, and there is the storage seal for him to hide his kunais.' Kurama sighs, even a summoning jutsu is out of reach since he needs to sign a contract scroll and he doubts they could contact mount myoboku, he curses the fact he didn't try to know more about Minato Hiraishin.
Kurama imagines what would be Izuku reaction if he tried to teach him the sexy jutsu, Kurama laughs at the thought.
'Well, next step is to teach him about the kunais, shurikens and how to use paper tags with kunais, and then we could try and expand his lighting and fire jutsus.' The Fox says before falling asleep.
