His deep voice called out, snapping her out of her drifting thoughts. She blinked rapidly and turned toward him, meeting Bernard's calm but questioning eyes. Then her gaze shifted to Kai and Kraven, who stood a few feet away, their presence heavy and watchful.
"Kai, Kraven, please come with me," she said softly, her tone careful but firm.
"I'll be right back," she added to Bernard with a polite smile before walking away, her heart thudding quietly.
They stopped a few paces from where they had been sitting before. Ariel drew in a quiet breath and looked between the two men who guarded her so intensely.
