His name was Bickslow...
One of the three Raijinshuu, one of Laxus's personal guards, a man who respected and admired Laxus, a man willing to betray Fairy Tail for Laxus...
His appearance was peculiar...
He was tall, with a toned body and broad shoulders. His hair was dark blue with nearly shaved black sections, styled into a mohawk crest on top and strands slicked back on the sides.
His outfit was unique...
He wore black armor with vertical white stripes, a metallic sallet-style visor covering his eyes, shoulder pads adorned with skulls, and a fabric skirt with "X" patterns. His outfit included bracers and loose pants tucked into armored greaves.
This man laughed maniacally as he saw Allen rushing toward him like a ghost.
"I feel chills in my bones, hahaha!"
Even knowing he would be the first target, he not only showed no sign of fear but laughed.
"That's how I like it—show them who the real danger is! Go, my babies!"
He mocked...
Five dolls resembling totem heads appeared around him. They fired green lasers—powerful concentrated bursts of magic. The lasers flew toward Allen like deadly volleys.
The first shot passed by Allen's head. The second aimed for his stomach but was blocked by his hand. The third curved around and attacked from the right. Unfazed, Allen used his arm to smash the shot, destroying it effortlessly.
"Woah! You're really strong! Hahaha!"
Bickslow, who despised weakness and respected Laxus as his leader and his teammates—who he believed to be Fairy Tail's strongest team—felt euphoric. He could feel it on his skin, that pressure felt when facing Allen Walker... But! no fleeing, no calling for help. He could fight—even if he couldn't win, he would hold him off long enough for his idol Laxus to arrive.
That was his thought...
The deadly lasers missed. Bickslow smiled. He stuck out his tongue and lifted his visor.
"Don't move!" Bickslow shouted as his eyes glowed fluorescent green. It was a curse. A dark spell. A powerful magic that pierced the soul.
Bickslow had two types of magic: his "Seith Magic," a dark magic that allowed him to trap wandering souls in objects like his five dolls, which he controlled to attack, defend, or teleport.
The second was "Figure Eyes." His eyes possessed a powerful magic that let him see people's souls and potentially control anyone who looked into them directly.
But!
"I said don't move—Wh??!" Bickslow suddenly stopped. His smile vanished. In his glowing eyes was something different. Something he had never experienced... he couldn't understand it. Those eyes, which could see the essence of a person's soul, for the first time failed to comprehend...
"Wandering souls..."
Allen did not stop. He extended his hand and summoned Clown Crown. His hand gripped his greatsword, which was coated with a faint light layer. His eyes changed to a serious yet gentle expression.
"Rest in peace..."
Allen vanished and reappeared moments later behind Bickslow's dolls. He cut each of the dolls down. There were no screams of pain, no exclamations or curses—because yes, those dolls could speak.
Allen's movements slowed. For a moment, he gave off a different feeling than usual. This was reflected in the eyes of everyone present.
"What is this feeling..." said one of the dolls.
"It feels good..." said another.
The last doll turned to Allen before losing mobility and collapsing lifeless to the ground, but not before whispering its last words: "Thank you..."
"You're welcome..." Allen smiled faintly with a kind expression before taking his final steps until he reached Bickslow.
"You..." Bickslow gasped in disbelief.
Allen made his Innocence disappear...
"You know why I attacked you first," Allen asked with a calm smile. "Because you have the worst compatibility with me... and you're a dark mage. Still want to fight?"
'Who is this guy? I can't see his soul, and what did he do to my babies? I don't understand!' Bickslow fell to his knees, face pale. 'I can't beat him! I don't even know how he defeated me! Laxus-san, we made a mistake! We shouldn't fight this guy!'
"I guess you've lost the will to fight..."
Allen glanced toward Laxus, who had never reached him due to two great obstacles.
....
(Moments Before)
Laxus was about to intercept Allen, preventing him from attacking Bickslow, but he had to stop.
"Requip: The Knight!"
"Take Over: Satan Soul!"
Erza and Mira appeared in his path, blocking his way. In that short time, Allen couldn't release everyone, so he chose to free the two available S-rank mages closest to him.
"Laxus, stop this madness!" Mirajane shouted, hitting Laxus's chest and forcing him to retreat.
"Tsk... Mira, when did you regain your magic?"
Laxus couldn't remain indifferent to Mirajane's recovery, as she was an S-class mage on Erza's level.
"Laxus, is this how you want to end things?" Erza asked, very angry.
"Shut up!" Laxus wrapped himself in a cloak of lightning and attacked Mirajane. "Who cares if you regained your magic, Mira? Me being the strongest will never change!"
"Shut up!" Mirajane, filled with rage, enveloped her fists in dark magic and struck Laxus's fist.
Laxus was surprised to see the level of anger Mirajane and Erza had, both seemed almost determined to kill him.
"Why today?!" Mirajane shouted.
"What?"
"I said, why did you have to rebel today?!" Mirajane grew even angrier and attacked relentlessly. "Do you know what day today is?! I was going to have a...!"
"I don't give a damn!" Laxus interrupted angrily, unleashing his power and pushing her away. "Don't think that just because you regained your magic, you're on my level when I never stopped using mine!"
Laxus created a huge orb of lightning that could destroy the guild.
"Laxus, are you crazy?!" Makarov shouted, though he was trapped inside a rune barrier.
"Laxus!" Gray shouted, trying to get out of the barrier but couldn't. Many mages could die, but Laxus didn't care and attacked.
"I won't let you!" A spear cut the attack in half and dispersed the magic.
"What?"
Laxus growled, his face twisting in anger. Erza appeared wearing armor that enraged Laxus.
"Even though you look like a knight, you always use dirty moves, don't you, Erza?"
Erza's armor was light blue with golden decorations and a long white skirt resembling inverted flower petals, double-plated greaves and shoulder pads with spikes, a ribbon on top of her hair, the rest tied in a braid. She looked like a Hellenic goddess in that armor.
This armor was the Lightning Empress Armor, and as its name indicates, it specialized in lightning magic combat and resistance.
"Is that something coming from someone who attacked their comrades in the middle of the Harvest Festival?!" Erza was angry—how could she not be? Not only were they ruining the festival, but also her date. "Do you have any idea how hard I worked today?!"
"Tsk! Another crazy woman!!"
Erza attacked Laxus; he blocked the spear strikes but had to step back. The Lightning Empress Spear could hit him even if he turned into lightning. Laxus felt humiliated—this was supposed to be the moment he declared his superiority and the new era of Fairy Tail, yet he was being suppressed by two angry girls mad that their date had been ruined.
....
Allen laughed at Laxus, who seemed to underestimate the combination of Erza and Mira.
"Damn it, that's why I told you to think the plan through better!" Evergreen attacked Allen with a whip, but he vanished and reappeared right in front of her.
"Before using whips and things like that, it's better to start with a coffee, don't you think?" he said with amusement.
"Sorry, maybe a girl is satisfied with sweet words, but to please a real woman you need something more!"
Evergreen sneered as she took off her glasses to turn Allen to stone. Her smile gave her away, but it froze when she heard the next words.
"Protego Prana..."
There was a spark of impact just an inch from Allen. Evergreen had enough experience as a mage to understand that her magic had collided with an invisible barrier.
"I don't like hitting women..." Allen smiled, "But I can make exceptions if you misbehave..."
Allen kicked Evergreen in the stomach, sending her crashing into a wall.
"Urgh!"
Allen turned to the last of the Raijinshuu, Freed Justine, who, without hesitation, drew his sword — a type of rapier more suited for thrusts than cuts.
Allen summoned Clown Crown in greatsword form while laughing. "You seem reasonable. Are you sure you don't want to surrender?"
Freed frowned as he deployed several restrictive barriers around Allen:
– Lower damage
– Reduced speed
– Movement difficulty
– Dizziness
– Weakness
"We will follow Laxus to the end!" Freed declared, ready to fight. But his thoughts raced:
'I was lucky to come last night and set so many traps; otherwise, we wouldn't stand a chance against this monster. Allen Walker is terrifying, but maybe with all these limitations, we'll have some chance—'
Freed's thoughts were cut short as a sword pierced his chest. When? How?
He looked up to see all his rune barriers sliced apart. To begin with, that was impossible—runes follow conceptual laws and shouldn't break if their rules are respected.
Of course, that didn't apply to a sword containing the Dunamis Demiurgos—the energy of all creation.
"Don't get confused... you're not strong enough to fight me..." Allen said, drawing his sword as Freed fell.
'Sorry, Laxus...' Freed thought, unsure if he was dead or just unconscious.
"Walker!!" Laxus exploded with rage. His power expanded, pushing Erza and Mirajane away.
"Just as I expected, he has a particle..." Allen said with displeasure. This battle could have ended quickly, but Lucifer wouldn't allow it.
"Laxus!" Natsu stood and attacked him.
This series of events took everyone by surprise, including Allen.
"Stop, Natsu!" Allen shouted, rushing to intercept, but he arrived moments too late. Laxus struck Natsu with such force that he broke several ribs and sent him flying against a wall.
"LAXUS!" Makarov yelled.
Allen appeared behind Laxus, grabbed the back of his neck, and slammed him into the ground, shaking half the city. Of course, Allen made sure to distribute the impact force to avoid destroying the guild building.
"If it wasn't Natsu, you would have killed him, you've gone too far, Laxus!" Allen growled.
After that, silence fell until Laxus' scornful laughter made everyone uneasy despite being restrained. Laxus transformed his body into electricity and vanished, only to reappear standing in the guild's center, apparently unharmed.
"Hahaha, just as expected from Allen Walker—you really are strong."
"..."
"Don't make that face, hadn't you become a Buddha, Allen?"
"I'm a little upset, but I'm not angry..." Allen controlled his emotions.
"That's scary. But everything needs a process; it wouldn't be fun if we ended this conflict right here, especially during a festival like this!" Laxus spread his hands, his face twisted in amusement.
Laxus' words revealed this was more than just an arrogant outburst. It sounded like the statement of a psychopath, but also deep down it sounded like the cry of a child seeking to validate his power. Allen didn't know the past between Makarov and Laxus but sensed some family issues.
"Are you having fun?"
"Of course, years of frustration will finally be washed away..."
"..."
Allen was prepared to attack. Regardless of Laxus' reasons, this was going too far. He wasn't going to play Laxus' game.
"Wait, Allen..."
Laxus smiled and pointed toward the stage where the curtain opened, revealing Laki, Cana, Levy, and Bisca turned to stone.
"Laxus, you bastard!" Gray shouted, pounding the barrier trapping him.
"How dare you do something like this?!" Lucy yelled, furious.
"Fight like a man, let me out of here!" Elfman exclaimed.
"You!" Erza clenched her teeth, her gaze deadly. Mira was no better. But neither attacked—they had received a message from Allen to hold back.
"Laxus..." Makarov rattled his prison but couldn't break free.
Laxus ignored everyone and focused on Allen, whose gaze was serious yet calm.
"Oh, I expected you to be angrier... Maybe because Erza, Mira, or those two—what were their names? Lucy and Juvia—aren't here?" Laxus mocked.
"Don't confuse self-control with indifference..." Allen narrowed his eyes. "Right now, I'm truly disappointed and irritated..."
Laxus smiled broadly. "Of course, I know your abilities! I know you can dispel Evergreen's magic easily... so I prepared a second incentive."
Laxus pulled out a Lacrima—a magical crystal.
"That is..." Allen's eyes widened slightly...
"This is a Thunder Lacrima, it contains my magic and activates at my will."
Thunder Lacrima are dark blue or purple crystalline spheres with electric sparks inside. Laxus' gaze turned colder and more threatening for a second. Allen frowned briefly, then opened his eyes wide, activating his "Six Eyes". Looking over all of Magnolia, he saw hundreds of those floating in the sky.
Laxus nodded upon seeing this. "I like that you're smart and capable enough not to need a lengthy explanation. Right now, a large number of these Lacrima are scattered across Magnolia. When stimulated by my magic, they'll detonate... so everyone is forced to participate in my battle festival!"
The guild fell into shock. What had he just said? He'd placed bombs all over Magnolia? At the festival? Innocent civilians all around?! Was he planning to destroy the city?
Laxus was about to mock them but froze when he felt a chill down his spine. Turning around, the blade of a greatsword was about to cut his neck.
Laxus smiled. "Showing your fangs, Walker?"
In Allen's eyes, there was no anger, no hatred, no contempt—only pity and weariness. But if it came to this, Allen would act. He didn't care if he got expelled from Fairy Tail. He didn't care if everyone saw him do it.
Determination shone in his eyes...
At that moment, Laxus showed fear for the first time...
He had made a mistake. You can't come threatening to massacre an entire city full of innocent people and not expect Allen to act.
