Chapter 198 - Waking in the Light of Primara (197)

Starfania's mind snapped back to reality as she watched the two dragons continue their wild brawl. She slowly put her hands on her chest, rubbing it softly to calm the thumping heart. How does this Castle Keeper know she was the Dragon Savior? And who is this Golden Hunter? Wait—scratch that. She saw something… but she didn't feel the consequence like before. This one felt different–like she caught a glimpse. A whisper broke through her spiraling thoughts.

" You saw it, " Cantina said, her tone smooth, yet edge with something unreadable. Starfania turned slightly to face her, confusion clouding her brow.

"What do you mean I saw it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The dragons roared in the distance, their wings slicing the air in a flurry of scales and fire.

It was a chaotic dance—violent yet strangely captivating. Cantina stepped closer, her eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and caution. "You glimpsed the power within you—the strength that lies dormant. The Golden Hunter senses it, and now so does the Castle Keeper."

There was a weight to her words, a truth that hung heavy in the air. Starfania inhaled slowly, trying to take it all in. She had fought her way through battles, pain, and fear, yet this moment felt… different. Like the real war had only begun.

"But I don't even know what it means to be the Dragon Savior," she confessed, the uncertainty settling over her like a heavy cloak.

"The journey is yours to embrace," Cantina replied, her voice steady. "Every choice you make will shape your path. The dragons, VulcanFire, Primara, and even the Castle Keeper—they are all part of this greater tale."

Starfania felt something spark inside her. A flicker of determination.

"Then I'll learn. " she whispered. " I have to. "

Cantina smiled once more–and vanished into thin air. For the first in what felt like forever, there was no fire, no screaming, no chasing ghost. Starfania closed her eyes and breathed in deeply–not the scent of ash like back in VulcanFire, but genuine air. Magnolia. And deep down, she was glad she said yes to Cantina — glad she took this mission. Because without it, she would have never seen Avalon for what it truly was. Her journey was far from over, but she had survived the storm. And now, whatever came next, she would face it—not as a frightened girl in the shadows of a broken kingdom, but as the Dragon Savior, reborn in light.

Yet far beyond the mountains, where no sunlight touched, and no laughter lived, something ancient had begun to stir…watching her rise.
