The result of the negotiation naturally ended in an unpleasant parting.
Walking out of the revolving door of the building, the sunlight outside was intense. Purple Summers waited for the driver to bring the car around and noticed Maeve standing a few steps away, seemingly also waiting for her ride.
Since they encountered each other, it wouldn't be right to pretend not to see her.
The two exchanged glances and smiled politely at each other.
Unexpectedly, Maeve took the initiative to approach and said with a smile, "It's a pity we couldn't reach a settlement today."
Purple thought to herself: You all probably hoped for a failed mediation, right? If we reconciled, how would we proceed with a lawsuit?
"Yes, it's a pity," Purple replied.
You don't hit a smiling face with your fist, and besides, the conflict of interest was between the two parties involved, Purple and Maeve had no personal grudge.
