Chapter 743 - Chapter 742: Insignificant Village

"Sizzle!"

"Boom!"

With a flash of lightning, the jeep in front of Killer Bee was cleaved in half. The lightning ignited the fuel tank, causing a massive explosion that instantly killed the rebel soldiers inside.

However, during the enemy's earlier gunfire, three stray bullets had struck Coulson in the abdomen, knocking him down. Camilla rushed over, grabbing Coulson and asking, "Where are you hurt?"

Coulson, seeing Camilla's concern, nonchalantly shook his suit jacket, and three flattened bullet heads fell to the ground. "I'm fine, just got hit with some impact."

Noticing Coulson's bulletproof vest, Camilla touched it and said, "It's not the usual insert-type?"

Coulson stood up and replied, "No, it's the latest model."

With his weapon in hand, Coulson charged forward again. Having injected himself with a physical enhancement serum, he was eager to play the MVP on the battlefield, planning to mimic Captain America's fighting style with his new bulletproof vest.

Killer Bee, observing the continuous stream of enemies and the approaching rebel vehicles, decided to act.

He delivered a spinning kick into the air. Surrounded by lightning, he slammed down onto a rebel vehicle.

"Boom!"

The vehicle was instantly destroyed, exploding and killing the rebels inside.

With Killer Bee's intervention, the hundred or so rebels began to fall at an alarming rate. It wasn't long before one of the rebels shouted in panic, "Devils! They are devils!"

The remaining rebels, demoralized, scattered in all directions. But their speed was no match for Coulson and Killer Bee, who quickly caught up and eliminated them.

Once the enemies were all dealt with, Coulson approached Killer Bee and said, "Hello, ninja. I'm Agent Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D. Thank you very much for your help."

At this point, the three from the temple ran over, joined by Ward and May.

Killer Bee, looking at Coulson, said, "Ward mentioned earlier that after we defeat the enemies, he would explain where we are."

Ward quickly whispered a few words to Coulson and then said to Killer Bee, "The rebels might come back soon. We should leave here first. I'll explain everything on the way."

Killer Bee, not particularly worried about his safety, nodded and said, "Alright, let's talk as we go."

Seeing that Ward was handling the communication, Coulson walked over to Camilla and said, "We're planning to evacuate for now. Do you want us to give you a lift, or are you leaving directly?"

Due to the recent rebel attack, all of Camilla's vehicles had been destroyed.

"Looks like we'll need a ride on your plane."

Coulson glanced back at the temple and then said, "Let's head to the plane first."

May drove up in a previously secured vehicle but noted the situation and said, "The car can only seat five. How do we want to arrange this?"

Coulson replied, "May, you take Ward, Killer Bee, Skye, and Simmons in the car. Fitz, you and I will walk. Is that okay?"

"No problem."

May then prepared to lead the first group towards the plane. Glancing at Coulson and the six remaining Peruvian police officers, May didn't bother offering to come back for them later.

Instead, she simply said, "Get in the car!"

May took the driver's seat with Skye beside her, while Ward, Killer Bee, and Simmons sat in the back. As the car sped off toward the parked plane, Ward made sure to bring the 084 object with them.

As they set off, Coulson turned to Camilla and said, "Let's get going too. Hopefully, we won't keep them waiting too long."

Camilla, looking at her team, nodded and said, "Let's move."

While on the road, Camilla glanced at Coulson and remarked, "Coulson, your combat abilities have really surprised me."

"Super Soldier Serum—looks like you guys finally perfected it."

Coulson's performance on the battlefield had indeed been astonishing. His inhuman speed, agility, and the power with which he wielded his baton to take down enemies made him seem like a completely different person from the Coulson she knew.

Fitz, who was walking alongside them, also couldn't help but look at his boss in awe. He had always assumed Ward was the team's powerhouse, but now it seemed their leader was the most formidable of all.

Coulson shook his head and said, "S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't have a Super Soldier Serum. I just got lucky—this was my reward for surviving the Battle of New York."

Camilla rolled her eyes at the vague response but continued with another question: "I didn't expect S.H.I.E.L.D. to start employing child soldiers. That kid, he's so young—did you really recruit him?"

Coulson glanced at her and, while continuing on their way, replied, "He's a ninja."

"Ninja?" Camilla echoed in disbelief.

Meanwhile-

In the car-

Killer Bee turned to Ward and asked, "So, can you tell me where we are and who you people are now?"

In the backseat, Killer Bee was sitting in the middle. He had already examined the car and noticed that it was much more advanced than the vehicles in the ninja world.

He knew this place wasn't his home, but beyond that, he was in the dark. After all, Lord Charles hadn't provided him with much information during the summoning.

Ward carefully chose his words and explained, "This is Earth, and we're in Peru, which is a country."

"As for us, we're from S.H.I.E.L.D., an organization under the United Nations. Our job is to handle dangerous situations on this planet and deal with extraordinary forces. We've encountered quite a few ninjas."

From the front seat, Skye turned around to add, "We just ran into a Sound Ninja. He was pretty strong too."

Skye was piecing together Ward's explanation—why mention Earth specifically? Were these ninjas aliens? But if that were the case, why did they look so similar to humans? And they spoke English, too. Something wasn't adding up.

Ward shot Skye a warning look for speaking out of turn.

"Sound Ninja?" Killer Bee questioned, clearly puzzled.

"What minor ninja village is that from? I've never heard of it."

He eyed Ward and warned, "Don't lie to me, or the consequences will be severe."

Ward quickly reassured him, "I wouldn't lie to you. There's no reason for it."

Ward was genuinely surprised that Killer Bee had never heard of the Sound Ninja, dismissing them as some insignificant village.
