In front of Ward stood a dark-skinned teenager with two swords strapped to his back. Ward was momentarily stunned by the boy's sudden appearance, having not witnessed his materialization.
However, what caught Ward's attention immediately was the headband the boy wore—clearly a ninja forehead protector, though with a design unlike any known ninja village.
Considering the intelligence he had, Ward glanced at the artifact in his backpack and the patterns on the wall.
Could this place be connected to the ninja world through some kind of spatial portal? If so, Ward knew they had to secure this location at all costs.
The teenager—Killer Bee—opened his eyes and took a step back, distancing himself from the group. Crossing his arms, he struck a pose typical of a rapper and began to speak in a rhythmic, rap-like manner:
"Yo, yo!
Where am I?
Why did Killer Bee appear here?
You all better explain quick,
Or I'll make you disappear, real quick!"
Fitz, Simmons, and Skye were taken aback, with metaphorical sweat drops forming on their foreheads. It seemed this ninja shared the rapping talent commonly associated with African Americans, which added to their bewilderment.
Unlike the others, Ward was acutely aware of how dangerous ninjas could be. Despite being thrown off by the rapping, he raised his hands to show he posed no threat.
He then calmly addressed the situation: "This is Peru, inside an Incan temple in Yakutapacta. Mr. Ninja, can you recall where you were before this? You appeared here suddenly."
Killer Bee, having been summoned by Charles Doyle, had some information about the situation already in his mind. He remained cautious and continued questioning, "Which country is Peru in, and what's going on outside?"
Ward replied, "We're agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. My name is Grant Ward. Outside, the Peruvian rebels are fighting the military. We need to leave here quickly. Once we're safe, I'll explain everything you want to know."
Ward deliberately avoided giving a full explanation about Earth and Peru, promising to do so once they were out of immediate danger.
Killer Bee unsheathed the swords from his back, holding them in both hands, and said, "If that's the case, let's take care of the enemies outside, then you can tell me what I need to know."
…
Outside the temple-
Coulson was efficiently taking down rebel soldiers, his shooting fast and precise, quickly emptying his magazine.
As he assessed the situation, he realized that the number of rebels was more than he anticipated. Though he could handle himself, he was concerned about his three non-combatant teammates.
He turned to Camilla and said, "Pull your people back, or we won't make it out. Get to your truck—let's go!"
The two made their way to the truck while picking off rebel soldiers along the way.
At that moment, Ward, leading his three teammates along with Killer Bee, burst out of the temple. Ward was the first to open fire on the enemies outside.
Seeing people emerge from the temple, Camilla was taken aback by the scene before her.
In her mind, she wondered, "What kind of divine setup is this? Just one field agent, some panicked desk workers, and a teenager? Does this mean we still have a chance to seize back the 084 artifact?"
Coulson, too, was shocked. His eyes quickly locked onto the forehead protector on Killer Bee's head. "Wait... What is that? A new ninja village?"
The presence of a ninja in the temple sparked a thought in his mind—could this place be connected to the ninja world?
The idea of retreating was swiftly dismissed by Coulson. No, he had to neutralize these rebels and thoroughly investigate this temple.
Ward, noticing the panic among his three companions, quickly shouted, "Get back inside!"
Meanwhile, Killer Bee crossed his arms and asked, "Who are the enemies?"
"The ones wearing red scarves," Ward replied.
With a single leap, Killer Bee instantly appeared beside one of the rebels, delivering a sidekick that sent the enemy flying into the open.
Without missing a beat, he followed up with a swift thrust of his long sword, taking down another rebel soldier.
"Flying Swallow!" Killer Bee shouted as he noticed more enemies with guns hiding nearby. Without hesitation, he hurled his two swords in a spinning motion toward the surrounding rebels.
The spinning blades cut through the rebels with deadly precision, leaving no one standing. Killer Bee then shunshined into the air, catching his swords before landing back on the ground, surrounded by fallen enemies.
Camilla was once again stunned. The boy's strength was beyond her expectations. She realized that Coulson's team might have been more prepared than she initially thought.
Coulson was now debating whether to stay and finish off the rebels or retreat and call for reinforcements to secure the temple.
However, the decision was made for him when more rebel reinforcements arrived, driving up in vehicles and firing their weapons at the group.
Coulson reached behind him and pulled out two batons. With a quick flick of his wrists, the batons extended.
"Ward, cover me!" he shouted.
Camilla, seeing Coulson had intention to retreat, also yelled, "Shoot! Shoot!"
Killer Bee noticed the new wave of enemies and decided to showcase his street dance moves on the battlefield.
"You little punks better surrender now, or Killer Bee's gonna blow a fuse, fool!"
Meanwhile, Fitz, Simmons, and Skye, crouched at the temple entrance, watched the scene unfold.
Fitz remarked, "Is this some sort of racial talent?"
Simmons, puzzled, added, "But his skin tone is a bit different—it doesn't seem like the usual African-American complexion."
Skye chimed in, "Maybe it's a genetic mutation?"
Fitz and Simmons glanced at Skye before rolling their eyes, opting not to respond.
At that moment, a jeep with three soldiers drove up, a machine gun mounted on it aimed at the group, ready to unleash a hail of bullets.
The machine gun and two assault rifles began firing in all directions, the muzzle flashes lighting up the battlefield.
"Lightning Fast Strike!" Killer Bee shouted as he launched a rapid lightning-charged assault toward the jeep. Lightning crackled around him as he moved.
"Fool!"
In an instant, Killer Bee appeared in front of the jeep, drawing one of his long swords and delivering an electrified upward slash that cleaved through the vehicle.
