As soon as we reached the train station, we were taken to a secure facility within the building until we made sure it was safe to ride.
The room we were in was dimly lit, and the atmosphere felt heavy with tension. I could hear the distant sounds of guards coordinating outside, their voices a reminder of the chaos beyond our walls. The station was supposed to be a place of transit, a hub of life and movement, but right now, it felt like a fortress.
Eiko stared at the porcelain doll in her arms and hugged it. The poor thing was trembling. My earlier words had failed to console her.
