Chapter 555 - Chapter 552

In the castle's back garden, Lucas was cleaning up with Mina, Nicole, Elisa, and Annie.

The original vegetable greenhouse had already been dismantled. Winter had passed, and all the vegetable greenhouses in Sedona City had been taken down. The seedlings cultivated inside had all been transported out for planting.

The castle's back garden greenhouse had been planted with more flowers and plants, as well as a few tea trees.

What Lucas was doing now was teaching Nicole and the others techniques like flower planting. This back garden was going to be thoroughly renovated. Lucas planned to transplant all the beautiful flowers from Earth and this world, first to preserve their seeds. In the future, he intended to create a sea of flowers—an otherworldly version of the Hanging Gardens.

"Master, how do I plant this?" Annie twitched her fox ears. Her face was smudged with dirt, making her look just like a calico cat.

"You use the shovel to dig open the soil, then put some cultivating soil in the pit..." Lucas stretched and demonstrated personally.

"Oh, so that's how it's done." Annie had a moment of realization. She squatted down and got busy, trying planting for the first time in her life.

"Whew..." Lucas let out a light breath, glancing over at Nicole and Elisa, who were both doing very well. It had been a long time since he had planted vegetables and flowers like this. Now that he was rich and powerful, doing this felt more like an act of sentimentality.

"Huh? Mina, that's not how you plant it." Lucas turned his head and saw the cat-eared girl pinching a flower stalk and shaking off the cultivating soil. He hurried over to teach her.

"Like this?" Mina buried the entire seedling two-thirds of the way into the ground, leaving only a few leaves above the soil.

"You don't need to bury... it... that deep..." Lucas rolled his eyes, glancing at the cat-eared girl's tail. It had just snapped three seedlings.

"Huh? Then I'll pull it out a bit." Mina quickly reached out, pinched the leaves, and tugged upward.

"Snap..."

The seedling broke. The cat-eared girl froze, glanced at Lucas sheepishly, and casually tossed it behind her. She clapped her hands lightly and started to pick up a new seedling.

"Uhh..." Lucas mechanically turned his head to look behind the cat-eared girl, only to see over twenty "murdered and dismembered" seedlings lying in a corner.

"Swish..."

Another broken seedling flew past. Lucas followed its trajectory and saw the fox-eared girl lowering her arm. She glanced back at him sheepishly, then buried her head and continued digging.

The corner of Lucas's mouth twitched. He must have had a brain fart today to think of bringing the beast-eared girls to clean up the back garden. Fortunately, the "murdered" seedlings were not very precious ones.

"Tap, tap, tap..."

The sound of footsteps approached. A maid bowed and said, "Lord, sir Tony requests an audience."

"Let him come here," Lucas said lightly, his mind turning over how to design a world-class garden.

"Yes." The maid turned and left.

"Tap, tap, tap..."

Tony arrived quickly. When he saw Lucas's hands covered in mud, he couldn't help but be stunned. He quickly glanced at the beast-eared girls, who were playing more than planting, and tactfully stepped forward, grabbed a small shovel, and began to help.

"Master, one set of dinosaur fossils has been transported back. It's in the castle warehouse now," Tony reported.

"Hmm. How many more days will it take to transport the rest?" Lucas asked calmly.

"About another month. There's just too much, and we're short-staffed," Tony said quickly. His hands didn't slow down as he buried a seedling two-thirds of the way down.

"Are there any beasts in that sinkhole?" Lucas nodded. The manpower shortage would be resolved soon. Freya had already sent a carrier pigeon message back, saying she had rescued nearly ten thousand people and would be back in about four days.

"Just some common wild animals," Tony said quietly.

"Are you here today because you found the place?" Lucas clapped his hands. If it were just about transporting dinosaur fossils, Tony wouldn't have needed to report in person right now.

"Yes. We found a large cave to the west. It's the kind that's halfway up a mountain," Tony said hurriedly.

"How far is it?" Lucas reached out and pulled the seedling Tony had just planted up a little.

"On foot, it takes about five days. By air, it's only about one day." Tony wiped his dirty hands on his clothes, took a piece of paper from his pocket, and said, "Master, this is the route map."

"Master, wash your hands." Nicole came over carrying water.

"Mm." Lucas washed his hands, took the linen cloth draped over Nicole's shoulder, and after drying his hands, took the paper to look at it. He found that it was drawn very abstractly, but he could still recognize some of the landmarks.

Seeing this map made Lucas think about creating a sand table—a large sand table encompassing the western lands. It was perfect, now that they also had hot air balloons.

"Tony, I have a mission for you." Lucas folded the paper and stuffed it into his pocket. He was going to take this paper to Earth to make a fake treasure map, which would be perfect for the next step of his plan. When those nobles arrived, he had to "entertain" them properly.

"..." Nicole stared blankly at Lucas' smile. She knew he was about to trick someone again.

"Please give your orders, Master," Tony said respectfully.

"A flight mission. Have the air force soldiers map out the western lands. Then, create a sand table. You are to coordinate with the R&D department's production," Lucas said calmly.

"Yes, I guarantee mission completion," Tony said with a serious face.

"How is the glass firing coming along?" Lucas changed the subject. Glass was an important component in several of his plans.

Not to mention, Lucas also wanted to change the windows to glass, build a glass greenhouse in this back garden, and sell the glass to distant lands. Selling glass on the Golden Waterway, in particular, would be another stepping stone to break into the market.

"Seven kilns have just been built. We are now preparing to start firing," Tony reported.

"The moment the glass is fired, bring it to me immediately." Lucas waved his hand.

"Yes." Tony bowed and retreated.

"The glass is being fired, so some plans can be leaked. Those people will also be here in four days. The timing is a bit tight," Lucas frowned in thought.
