The room was quiet, a dim fire sway ablaze as the somber heat kept the room warm. The young boy sat across from Ana, his black eyed gaze wandering about, his smile wide yet modest. It was a bunker underneath his home-filled with stacks of canned foods, beds, and a random top hat collection.
A part of her was glad she was given shelter, a place that wasn't a cardboard box, the other was now worried about the stranger giving her that help. The boy's eyes perked up as he swayed on the desk, as words escaped his lips, they were soft, yet carefree.
"You hungry? My momma made me and my sister some lasagna, its the best!"
Ana gave him a silent shrug, not sure what to say exactly, but it didn't take long for her hunger to start speaking for her, the sound of her rumbling stomach and her mouth trying to water at the thought of the pasta based dish. For the first time, she opened up her mouth, muttered nervously.
"I-I want some. . "
The boy nodded as his shadow began to grow larger, detaching itself from him, it grinned largely at Ana, fear setting in as she scooted back. It was like looking into the nature of the monsters you hear in fairytales, only this time, the pictures smiled back at you.
The young boy raised his hand, the shadow stopping its malicious grin as it steadily took form, almost pushing out of the wall as it appyled a 3d aspect to itself, but it didn't look like the boy at all, instead, it was a tall well rounded woman.
She wore a threaded-spider like dress as the ends held a snowflake pattern. Her ruby red eyes had an almost hollow gaze to it, like she was calculating some cruel and calculated, the exact opposite of her black hair, the very same color of the abyss she escaped from.
"Don't scare her Azzy!" The boy quickly muttered.
The woman rolled her eyes, smacking her reddish-purple lipstick as she sighed. Her eyes locked onto Ana, her coldness lesson as she finally spoke, her voice was motherly almost maternal like, a soothing reminder of her missed mother. Her tone however was a mocking tone, holding a hint of jealousy and spite.
"What? She's a totally mess, and your trying to spoil her? I want to be spoiled!" The boy pinched her arm, causing the woman to flinch at the pain.
"Apologize! I'm not spoiling anyone!"
"F-fine! Sorry. . ."
Her apology was half-assed, yet her gaze was clearly seeking the boy's approval, as the two waited for Ana's response, as she finally loosened up from the confusion altercation.
"I-its fine. . ."
The boy clapped his hands in aproval as his frown formed from an ecstatic grin.
"Alright, Azazel, could you go sneak into the kitchen and get her some lasagna, and ooh! Don't forget to grab me some ice cream!" He happily claimed, not a single negative thought running through his head. The shadow rolled her eyes, a pause before taking her ghostly form once again, swishing away out the double doors.
