Walton Greer gripped the Black Gold Ball tightly, letting it merge with the dark energy coursing through his body.
Right as Walton prepared to strike, his phone buzzed.
He checked the caller ID and saw Hawk Thompson' name flashing on the screen.
Walton's eyebrows lifted slightly as he answered, stepping away from the others.
"How's it going?" Hawk Thompson' voice was ice-cold.
Walton looked down at Bella Tad writhing on the ground. "I was about to finish him."
"Bring him back breathing," Hawk Thompson said flatly.
"Don't forget, someone wants his body intact."
Walton's brow creased. He started to respond, but Hawk Thompson had already ended the call.
"Damn it..." Walton's expression darkened. He'd been eyeing Bella Tad's holy body himself, but Hawk Thompson had beaten him to it.
Walton stared at Bella for a long moment, torn between choices.
"We can't cross Hawk Thompson just yet..." a raspy voice whispered in his head.
Walton ground his teeth but backed down.
