Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Fox?

Meanwhile, Victor's group had almost reached the battlefield. There were quite a few monsters in their way, but Lancelot and Bedivere quickly dealt with them.

"Doctor, how much further do we have to go to reach the other group?" Victor said, catching his breath. After all, Victor was the only "normal" person here. They had run a whole marathon in two hours without slowing down. "

We're almost there. Ahead, many signals from powerful servants were detected. We'll encounter them in 5 minutes!" Dr. Romani now felt very confused.

(What are these lost belts that Muramasa spoke of? Could it be that humanity has enemies other than Goetia? If this all started because of my desire to be a normal person, then I... While Dr. Romani was wandering in self-blame, a ringing voice woke him up.

"Hey, Romani, I know what you're thinking, and we both know that's not true. Remember who you are right now and look back on the past." Da Vinci's voice awakened the Doctor, and he became more confident.

Victor, who was next to Da Vinci, remained silent, and Mash did not understand the topic of conversation.

"Okay, we'll be arriving at the battlefield soon. Let's go over our plan again..." Before Victor could speak, he sensed a strong magical force ahead. A siren sounded throughout Haldea, warning of danger.

"A huge magical force has been detected ahead of you! Only servants of the "grand" level or "beasts" can possess such power, but this force clearly contains hatred for humans. This servant is 100% a beast. Victor, Mash, you must flee immediately! We cannot deal with a 'beast' at this moment!" The doctor was shocked by what was happening. After all, the 'beast' had appeared right in front of them with clear intentions.

Every servant who has crossed over into the "beast" class has both hatred and love for people. But even so, the birth of the "Beast" is due to multiple factors that have not yet been fully studied. After all, even a human could become a "beast" by fulfilling certain conditions.

And the fact that the "beast" came to them is the most frightening moment. It sees them as a threat that must be eliminated.

[A sudden quest was created]

[First encounter with the "Beast"]

[As the master of this Chaldea, you have come face to face with the evil of humanity for the first time. It is up to you to decide which path to take in order to survive.] [In this quest, the reward depends entirely on your choice] [1. Defeat the "Beast"]

[Use everything you have to defeat the Beast]

[Reward: Summon Ticket with a guaranteed SSR Extra Class Servant]

[2. Dialogue with the Beast]

[Who said that everything has to be decided by battle? Words have more meaning, but talking to the "Beast" is very risky. Make the "Beast" let you go on its own initiative.]

[Reward: 30 Holy Quartz]

[3. Escape from the Beast]

[If you don't like complicated paths, escape is the easiest option at first glance. But whether you can escape is another question]

[Reward: 15 holy quartz]

Upon hearing the quest notification, Victor began to consider the best option.

(The first option is the most difficult, but the reward matches the difficulty. If I summon a Grand-class servant, I will most likely be able to defeat the beast, but it will take a long time. If we don't hurry, the other group will most likely be destroyed. I won't even consider the third option. That leaves only the second. As far as I remember, in the FGO storyline, you have to fight the "Beast" at least once to start a normal dialogue. Damn, we don't have enough time. We'll have to improvise. Victor thought everything through and discussed it with the group, then continued on his way.

Soon they saw a woman dressed as a flight attendant. Her eyes were filled with cunning, and there was a slight smirk on her face. "Greetings, people of Chaldea. My name is Tamamovich Koyanskaya, head of the NFF. We provide various services to our valued customers, and unfortunately, I have been paid to eliminate you. So, nothing personal." Koyanskaya scanned the group with her piercing gaze, and when her eyes met Victor's, she smiled even wider.

Victor immediately had the same feeling he had during the first singularity when Jeanne Alter spoke to him.

(Damn! It looks like she remembers everything, just like Jeanne Alter. But, unlike Jeanne Alter, I think she remembers everything up to the moment in Tunguska, or at least up to the last lost belt. In Tunguska, we didn't really defeat her, but convinced her with words, but then we had Taigong Wang with his eloquent speech. Although I have information that she needs, we might be able to come to an agreement.)

While Victor was thinking everything over, Da Vinci began to speak. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Koyanskaya. I am Leonardo Da Vinci. Although I am very happy to meet you, could you please step aside. We are in a great hurry." Da Vinci did not want to provoke a battle, so she tried to be as polite as possible.

"Oh, it's Da Vinci herself! I've never seen you in this form before. However, as I said earlier, you will have to die here. Or has the master of Chaldea figured out a way to avoid that?" Koyanskaya knew that they could never defeat her in a direct battle and wanted to know what compromises the people of Chaldea would make.

Victor began to recall everything he knew about Koyanskaya. (Damn, as far as I remember, she always sticks to the terms of the contract only if the opponent is not stronger than herself. I think it's good that Taigong Wang isn't here, otherwise she would have attacked us right away. Come on, Victor, think, think!) After a few seconds, Victor remembered a fact that almost all FGO players know. Although it might not work, it would definitely allow them to stay alive.

Victor stepped forward and began his speech. "Koyanskaya, if you let us pass, I'll allow you 30 minutes of conversation with Beni Enma! This is a rare chance that will never happen again! Otherwise, I'll tell her to ignore you for the rest of your life!" Victor finished his speech and looked at Koyanskaya's reaction. Suddenly, the whole group felt some unknown force pressing down on them. The air around the group trembled and made it difficult to move.

After 10 seconds, Koyanskaya's calm voice rang out. "One hour, no less. If you agree, I will take you directly to your comrades. Who would have thought that my first contract would be a failure? Although, the terms didn't specify when exactly you needed to be stopped" Koyanskaya tilted her head to the side, propping it up with her hand. Despite the sad look in her eyes, there was a fire burning in her from the upcoming meeting with Beni Enma.

(Damn, it really worked! But now there's another problem. I couldn't summon Beni Enma, and if Koyanskaya finds out, she'll kill us right away! But, come to think of it, she didn't ask me when she could meet him, which gives me a little time.) Victor tensed up a little at the thought of being killed, but then relaxed.

"As a small bonus, I'll give you this information. Troops from two Lost Belts, namely Olympus and the Kingdom of Fairies, have invaded this singularity. Now get ready for the trip. And don't forget to leave a review for our NFF services!" Koyanskaya waved her hand and the whole group found themselves inside a vortex that lasted 10 seconds and then disappeared along with the group.

Koyanskaya stood for another minute looking at the place where Victor's group had been standing. "As soon as I appeared, I promised myself that I would destroy Chaldea and everyone else, but I broke my own promise. Who would have thought that an ordinary person would blackmail me? But I don't understand who sent this contract to eliminate them. [He] seemed to guess that I would fail, so he didn't put such strong restrictions in the contract. Well, I understand him. After all, only a "Beast" can understand the thoughts of another Beast. After finishing her monologue, Koyanskaya disappeared from this singularity.
