"You came well prepared miss. Straight south is the largest ocean in the world. Hard to track all of us down on open seas until we get to our home and refuge." The ram beamed with joy. "About half of all the collared folk are in the south buildin. Or they should." He peeked out the door as James was in eyesight bringing the other building far into the woods. "The forbidden siblings aren't a myth?" They all stood in shock as Angel stepped out the door and directed them to take a longer path. All this walking and sneaking wasn't their style. But acceptable for the moment.
The two groups met on the forest edge and started southward as many of them pleaded to stay and help. James told them they would only hinder and spreading the word of them existing is much better of a goal of them two.
They grudged through the forest as James and Angel stood at the treeline looking at the mansion. "So, the north house has three people with collars. I will snap theirs and escort them through the havoc across the backside of the mansion to meet up with the other seven in the west house."
"I can free the ones in the south, what's your distraction again?" Angel asked fearing the outcome. "If it's something small it will not work."
"I left the gas on in that house. Should be filled up and its the only one that is sealed off completely." Angels face dropped. "The gas valves are all shut off at the other houses and the pipe infrastructure has a quick stop function. So the explosion won't carry through the pipes." He smiled. "But with this little vial of gunpowder and a simple striking pin. It should make for a very loud boom."
Angel snickered. "One way to get wanted." She twirled her spear in her arms. Stretching her back muscles as her wings flapped. "How did you cut the collar for the first one?" She asked softly as James looked at his hands.
"You have to move fast. There are clips on one side. Don't go from there. Go from the halfway point on both sides of the clip and rip with everything you got." He smiled. "Just get angry enough to snap it and follow through with it." He had a quiet chuckle as he coughed and held the vial in his hand. "You ready?" She gave a thumbs up as he sprinted to the first house.
She glided over to the southern house as she waited by the backside of the building. The explosion would probably level the house and send it all on high alert. James stood kitty corner from both the north side house and the one on the east. "One shot." He wound up his arm and uncorked the vial. Throwing it directly through a window as the building erupted into flames. The fire in his eyes grew as it engulfed the field neighboring it. He sprinted into the north house and began snapping collars.
"I FUCKING TOLD YOU SOMETHING WAS OFF." Rook pressed the alarm buttons as everyone awoke and looked to the building smoldering in fire. He grabbed his coat and sprinted outside as all the houses emptied and started to grab buckets. Forming a line from the well to put the fire out and save the crops.
"That takes some balls kid. I wish we would have thought of something like that." One of the men had scales instead of skin. "Now we can leave here right?"
'You guys don't have the training to do what I did.' James thought to himself as he snapped the last collar. "We first need to get to the west house and free their collars." He guided them out the door as he held his spear high. His eyes fluttering between all the buildings.
One man was standing watch on the backside of the mansion as he watched James and the others sprinting to the other house. "Oh you son of a bitch." He grabbed his rifle by his side and pulled back the hammer to aim.
James' ears twitched. He recognized that click. His head flashed over in an instant as he got low to the ground and dodged the first shot. Launching his spear at the man with precision. The press of a button on the spear allowed it to go through the man as he became pinned to the wall. Clasping at the air as blood filled his lungs. He entered the house as they all ripped their collars off already.
"Good. this place is due to become a bloodbath. Sprint directly into the woods and don't look back." James stood in the doorway as they all ran past him to the woods. He ran to the manor and grabbed his spear from the wall as the man dropped to the ground. He watched them make it to the treeline with the others as Angel waved for him to follow.
"Attention everyone. Someone has let loose all of the collars and the hybrid beasts have escaped. We have no clue where they are running to. Find them!" The voice boiled over with rage as James smiled happily. He ran over to Angel as they stood at the southern house.
"Phase two? We still have moonlight." James looked over as the sun yet hadn't crested. He flicked his spear clean as Angel nodded. "You get a visual I will begin to pick them off where I can."
She took off in a moment. Whistles filled the air as all the men were still panicking and putting out the fires. The men had no way to pay attention to it as James waited. "Show me the opening I want." He dug into his side pouch as he had a second fire starter and was ready to use it just to look cool.
The fire was put out as all the men took a sigh of relief. "Time to find those disgusting slaves." One of the men shouted as they all cheered. They slowly made their way back from the house as a new pillar of fire appeared in front of them. They all stood as statues in fear.
"Its magic, did one of the hunters turn on us?"
"How could they dare betray their own flesh and blood?"
"What are you!" Rook shouted as James stepped through the pillar of fire unscathed.
"The walking incarnate of death. You best have backup. I will be enjoying this." He whistled a tune as they all clenched their fists.
"We ain't scared of no pussy cat. We have taken others larger than you and manhandled them." They all started to run at him as he drew his spear from behind him. He stood motionless until they got within his range. Each swing of his arms hit direct contact with multiple at once. Slashing and slicing off arms, arteries and severing their lives from the planet.
Angel swooped in from behind the line as she mowed them down as well. Her wings throwing dust into the air and blinding some of the men as they all panicked and spun in circles as each and every one of them were cut down. They stood in the east as the owner of the plantation and his personal guard stood in the entryway as the sun slowly rose behind the two of them.
"Now kids, you killed a lot of good men." He strolled forward clapping as James and Angel were focused like razors. "You kids show us where those fellows of yours went. And we kill you with two shots quickly to the back of the head." He pointed at them with finger guns. James growled back in return as they all took a step back. "What a special little creature, man, you can't make this up. Those choppers will be here by the time the sun fully rises."
