Li Na let out an exasperated sigh. "I never said anything about you not being able to afford it."
Meilin, squinting at her through the elevator's reflective surface, retorted, "But you were about to."
Li Na's eyes darted away guiltily, and she stepped out of the elevator, her cheeks tinted with a faint blush. She briskly made her way toward the entrance of the building, navigating the lobby's familiar surroundings, where a familiar car was parked in front.
Approaching the car, Li Na opened the passenger's door, exchanging greetings with Lucifer, who sat behind the steering wheel. Without a second thought, she slipped into the front seat and closed the door.
Watching Li Na take the front seat, Meilin couldn't suppress a subtle frown that crept onto her face. A twinge of possessiveness stirred within her as she noticed Li Na in her usual spot. She furrowed her brow, baffled by the unfamiliar emotions coursing through her, and quietly wondered, "What's going on with me?"
