Chapter 162 - RDD 161

RDD 161

"Wow, this pwace is bweautiful!" Sophia was mesmerized as she looked at the houses in this wealthy neighborhood.

Every house had a unique architectural style. Being a young girl, Sophia was already excited just by looking at something unique or colorful.

Even Roman was looking out the window. However, his mouth was shut and his expression was not better. My son had motion sickness.

Each house has a distance of 10 to 25 meters between them. Some houses were covered in fences and had unique plants that came from foreign countries.

We even saw a greenhouse with unique plants.

My grandparents owned a mansion in this place, almost 500 square meters wide. It was freaking huge and I never experienced exploring the mansion. The garden and swimming pool alone were huge for me to explore.

A few minutes later, driver Torres stopped in front of a huge mansion.

My grandparents exited the van, my daughter was clinging to her great-grandmother. Sophia easily became closer to Grandma Matilda because my grandmother was indeed a gentle person. She was the complete opposite of my grandfather. Honestly, I didn't know how my grandparents got married.

"Roman, are you okay?" Penelope checked our son and Roman nodded.

Now that his feet were on the ground, his motion sickness dissipated until he could move well.

"I'm fine, Mom."

Penelope smiled and rubbed Roman's hair. The kid didn't budge, letting his mother mess up his hair. Yet, whenever I did that, he would be mad. Clearly, my son prefers Penelope over me.

Torres drove the van to the parking lot. We walked a few meters and found dozens of people waiting for us. Most of them were maids in uniform.

Note that they were not wearing a valedictorian maid dress, instead, they were wearing a modern maid uniform.

"Eh?" I tilted my head and looked at my grandparents.

"Grandpa, I remember that the workers in the mansion rarely wear uniforms. You just let them wear something they are comfortable with as long as it's not inappropriate."

"Yeah, I said that."

Grandpa was confused as well. Then, he looked at Grandma Matilda.

"I told them to wear their uniforms to greet the new members of the family."

"..."

Grandfather and I just nodded. We realized that Grandma Matilda just wanted to brag.

As expected, Sophia was amazed as she looked at the maids looking professional.

"Mommy, look! They are just like the maids I watched on the TV!"

"Sophia, these maids are working for us. They are working for you as well." Grandma Matilda said to the little girl.

"Weally?"

"That's right. You're a Castillo and these maids are working for Castillo."

"Wow--!"

I see, so the purpose of this was to impress Sophia. As expected of my grandmother, she was already making her move.

"Dad, none of the maids are looking young. They seem old and ugly..."

Roman muttered and I almost coughed out.

"Son, once you are old, you will understand the reason. For now, you should take a rest."

"Okay." Roman accepted my answer. I tried to rub his hair but he quickly stepped away and evaded me.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Castillo and Mr. Castillo."

The maids welcomed us. To be exact, they greeted their old employers, Grandma Matilda and Grandpa Bradley.

We walked into the mansion. I felt that the maids were looking at my family, particularly at Sophia who was in Grandma Matilda's embrace.

"Matilda, I think it's too much for you to carry Sophia. Let me carry her instead."

With worry in his eyes, my grandfather tried to convince Grandma Matilda to let go of Sophia.

"Bradley, we have been married for more than 60 years. I know what you're thinking." The old man giggled but she accepted her husband's so-called goodwill. She was indeed too old to carry Sophia.

Sophia was docile and let her great-grandfather carry her.

"Um, gweat-Gwandpa?" Sophia weakly asked.

"Yes, Sophia?"

"You said you have so many cakes in your house... Why can't I see it?"

"... Ahem, I'll take you to the dining room."

Knowing that Sophia loves sweet, grandfather didn't have a choice but to spoil his one and only great-granddaughter.

"Yay--! Bwother, let's eat cake!"

"Hm." Roman nodded and followed them to the dining room.

"Should I follow them? I think the kids might overeat and have stomachache."

I glanced at my wife who was slightly uncomfortable with the huge mansion. The structure was so huge and too much for her to get used to.

She bitterly smiled at me.

"I- It's fine. The kids promised me that they would not eat too much." She replied to me.

I approached her and grabbed her hand, showing her that I would always be with her. She smiled at me and weakly nodded.

"Keith... The maids and butlers are glancing at us."

"Really?"

I looked around. I found the maids doing their jobs seriously.

"You think so?" I asked my wife.

"Yes, they are stealing glances at us... I'm not used to it. I'm sorry honey. I feel like I entered a different world. I know that your family is rich but I didn't expect something like this."

Well, the Castillo has four companies and they are all doing well. Furthermore, my father was trying to start another company. So yeah, I guess our status was not that bad.

"Do you want me to take you to a room?"

"No, I want to see the garden first. I promise Mrs. Matilda that I will help her plant these plants."

Suddenly, I remembered that my wife was actually carrying a plastic bag filled with cherry tomatoes!

Perhaps that was the reason why the maids and butlers were looking at my wife!
