"Well, I heard, his illegitimate daughter who he had sent away did it for the inheritance."
Keiko has been listening to the murmurs ever since they returned from the cemetery and it's been giving her flashbacks to her own tragedy with the chatty maids. Nadia, who sits beside her totally disconnected, doesn't seem to hear them or perhaps she's just ignoring them, having no will to speak up. Keiko, however, refuses to let them get away with it. She's not a little girl anymore.
"Excuse me ladies, but perhaps you should keep your baseless rumors to yourself?!" The four women are startled by Keiko's harsh reprimand, falling silent as they quickly move further away.
“Just leave it be Keiko. Let them talk. We know the truth. That’s enough for me.” Nadia says.
