Yaen Chi knocked her on the forehead across the table, "Don't think just because we're in different cities, I'm not going to mind your business. Especially this time, since I happened to witness it myself. Get a more stable job and make sure you're back at the dorm on time every night."
Ye Wanting nodded obediently.
She didn't say anything, but Yaen Chi insisted she respond, asking, "Did you hear me?"
"I-I heard." She was like a child getting scolded by a parent for doing something wrong.
Yaen Chi usually had a laid-back attitude, but when he got serious, he was more intimidating than anyone.
She didn't dare to say anything else. Besides, the night's ordeal had scared her too.
Yaen Chi's phone rang. He glanced at it, and after saying a couple of words, he looked at Ye Wanting and handed the phone to her.
"A friend from the police station is handling your case and wants to ask you some questions. Just be honest."
