Ye Wanting didn't stay long before coming down.
She told Yaen Chi that she saw the caregiver and even chatted with him. Wu Xiao wouldn't let her take care of him; he would stay in the hospital for two days before returning to school. Ye Wanting didn't insist on taking care of him but planned to visit these two days and bring some fruit and bread. She also invited Wu Xiao, saying she'd make a special meal to thank him once he's better.
Yaen Chi listened absent-mindedly; his expression was unreadable.
He drove Ye Wanting back to school and gave her some reminders, but when she was about to speak, his phone rang.
Yaen Chi glanced at it but didn't answer. Instead, he looked at Ye Wanting, who was leaning against his car window. "What did you want to say just now?"
She had forgotten what she was about to say, noticing his phone pressed against his leg; the screen's light spilled out, casting a faint glow on his slender hand.
"Drive safely, okay? Text me when you get home."
