"Rui… Rui…"Bai Lu's voice trembled with panic as he cradled Rui's unconscious body, desperately trying to wake him.
Zoe rushed to their side and noticed dark patches spreading across Rui's skin. Alarmed, he quickly checked on Xi Shen, who showed the same symptoms.
"Xi Shen…" he called, shaking him gently—no response.
Growing more anxious, Zoe hurried to check the others lying motionless nearby. Every single one of them had those same ominous black spots spreading over their bodies.
"Why there are black spot appearing in their bodies?" Zoe muttered, his voice tight with dread.
"Because they're under a demon's curse," came a familiar voice from behind.
Zoe spun around and saw Lei Wei approaching.
"Lei Wei? What are you doing here?" he asked, startled.
"I came to meet my nephew," Lei Wei said, his tone tinged with disappointment. "But it seems that meeting will have to wait… thanks to a cursed demon ruining everything."
"Cursed demon?" Zoe echoed.
