"Get back! If you come any closer, we'll start shooting!" Behind the sandbags, a soldier of the Laines Empire poked out half of his head and shouted at the frantic crowd.
In reply, a bullet flew towards him. Although it didn't hit his head, it startled him. These Laines Empire soldiers, now equally enraged, began pulling their triggers at the crowd.
"Bang!" A Laines soldier fired at the crowd and then retreated behind the sandbags, pulling the bolt to reload his gun.
"Charge! For freedom! For the Tang Army!" Shouted a frail young man, wielding a rusty kitchen knife, his face filled with resolute determination.
An older worker standing beside him was shot by a bullet and fell backward, supported by the people surging forward. Seeing blood, the crowd became even more frenzied, and those with weapons began shooting at the Laines Empire soldiers inside the checkpoint.
