Chapter 19 - Chapter Eighteen

"Tasha?" Tame and Jase looked at each other in disbelief.

Tasha? As in your ex-girlfriend?" Mercy asked like someone who didn't hear what I said.

"Yes!" I shouted to all of them.

"She is here with my accountant", I added.

None of them could say anything. I could see the worry in Jase's and Tame's faces and the jealousy, anger and disbelief in Mercy's heart.

"I need a drink", I broke the silence throwing my car keys to Jase and heading to the house leaving all of them behind.

I headed direct to the counter praying to God that I do not run into Tasha at any point. Thanks to God I did not and the counter was empty of persons except for the bar tenders who were busy mixing drinks and making cocktails.

"Double tot of your strongest Gin please", I said to one of the bar tenders. I don't know the name of what he gave me but it satisfied me well.

Again and again I say, the devil is a liar. The more I tried to convince myself that everything was going to be okay, the devil was laughing at me from behind.

"Having a bad time?" A recognizance voice whispered from behind my ear.

It was Tasha. I decided not to say anything. As much as I tried to avoid her, the more my heart was beating to talk to her and the more my body was burning in anger and the want to tear and break her into so many pieces like she did to my heart some years ago. She sat beside and ordered her best wine. I could feel her eyes on me. I wished I could leave the whole party alone and go back to my house and have some good time with whoever I'll find on the way but not her, I mean not Tasha for I'll vomit what I haven't ate before I kiss her.

"Do you remember our first date? When you ran into your campus ex-chick? The one who said you had a kid together? The same look on your face that night is the same look on your face now." She laughed sarcastically.

She continued to torment both my spirit and my heart though my body tried as much as possible to hold up and stay strong till the fight is over.

"I don't know why I didn't believe her that night, but I really wish I did."

"That is enough Tasha! I couldn't take anymore."

"Haha, the silent heartbroken handsome man talks?" She continued to attack me from all the angles.I flashed my drink down my throat, ordered another did the same then got ready to face her and beat the hell of her until I find her volume knob and turn it off.

"Hey hunny?" I missed you! Mercy said as she kissed me deeply by my lips.

"She saved her?" I said to myself.

"Haha! Don't believe in anything he says darling." Tasha said as she saw us leave.

Mercy turned to look at her.

"We all have different chances and opportunities, you had yours and you wasted it so deal with that", Mercy told Tasha.

"He will break your heart and leave!" She added

"Thanks for the advice", Mercy told her and pulled me to the dance floor for a dance.

Heey! Sharon bursted", If it wasn't for the garish music playing, everybody could have been affected by her shouting. " Can you snap out of your thoughts and deal with the present", she requested.

"I am sorry for the silence, just thinking about what you said", I lied

"And?" She snapped. This woman must have a very vicious deposition, thank God she was beautiful for nobody could waste a second talking to her.

"You know I am not new to that statement", I told her as I looked deep down her eyes to figure out what she was after and why she chose me. She seemed legit, one hundred percent sober and serious. My whole life I have never been lucky with women and I was certain this was not going to work.

Life is too short not to live, a friend told me. Sometimes I would enbolden myself by converting myself that my life was meant to revolve and circumvolve all round heartbreaking, disappointing and envious women. If I will ever give up on love it won't be because I don't know how to love but it will be because I am destined to, I would always tell myself whenever I thought about all the mess ups have been through.

"Are you sure it's the same statement, or are you trying to push me away?" She asked looking at me closely and at the same time proving her beautiful smile hidden behind the club's mixed light colors. She was beautiful, I could tell by her smile even though I was somehow carried away by the alcohol I had already taken.

"Hey! I know you", a man behind me said as he veered with his eyes fixed at her.

My mouth became glitchy as my idiosyncrasy colonized me as tried to look inside his eyes to figure out whether he was driveling but his eyes were fixed to Sharon who was neither paying attention to him nor what he was saying.

"Are you trying to talk to me?" I asked him not because I wanted to, but to get Sharon's attention.

"Excuse me, are you talking to me?" She was extremely unequivocal on him. Her voice wasn't wimpy anymore and she wasn't anymore nice. I hated it for a moment. I mean was it wrong for the guy to tell her the truth? Who was she by the way?

"Yes am talking to you," he staggered a bit but gained balance in a few. Your name is...is...is sha... Sha..."he must have had a lot of bottles of beer that hindered him from focusing on the agenda he had just brought on to the table. The more eager I was getting to what he was to say the more he seemed to forget.

"Hey, hey, hey... Excuse me", Sharon tried to thunder her fingers on the air to cut off the head of the sudden story. What was she up to?

"I know you" he insisted

"I don't know you and trust your none sense that you do not know me either" She insisted deeply this time on her feet ready to pound on this creature with her nude hands.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" I called sense into both of them. "Can we calm down and try to be modernized for a second." I added
