I use it on my dagger and place the dagger back into my inventory, hoping it wouldn't be put out once i put it into my inventory, but as far as i could see it was still lit ablaze, completely stationary, as though there was no passage of time in my inventory
'Huh, I'll need to make better use of that later, definitely a useful trait though'
After dusting off any residual dirt that might've clung to my robe I start my trek back to the mountain, searching for any willow grass along the way.
After a couple short, shockingly tranquil minutes up the mountain, my slight stupor was broken by the sight of a small gap in the mountain. "A cave!"
I cast haste and begin ready my dagger in one hand and a fireball in the other.
I sneak my way up towards it, through the side more densely populated with trees and other obvious layers of overgrowth, making sure not to step on any dead branches along the way.
'let's not be cliche now, alrightmerlin?'
After getting to a nice vantage spot, I peer into the cave through the bushes, Inside I spot 2 adult grey wolves and 2 children.
'The kids are sleeping cuddled next to that one, probably the mother, the other one(allegedly the father) is laying down, but its definitely awake, its keeping watch (although clearly not very well~).
'If I fireball the father and attempt to rush in for the mother it might work, but if the father dodges, i'll be fighting a 2v1, and they definitely won't be running, their kids are right there, maybe i can catch the mother off guard with a fireball and lure the father out, the mom's asleep so she should be one shot to a fireball, the fire could distract the father just enough to allow me to sneak in and light him ablaze with a good slash from my flaming dagger, I doubt the kids will try to fight, they'll probably run off while the dad fights to make time for them to get away, I dont really care about the kids, they probably aren't worth any more than 2-ish xp altogether.
'I feel a little apprehensive being this cruel but their monsters, they'd do the same thing to me or my family, if anything i'm more merciful for leaving the kids(not necessarily for the right reasons, but still).'
After rousing my confidence for a moment, I spring into action.-
I throw a fireball at the resting mother, wait a moment for the father to register the attack and look over at the other one to make sure they're okay.
I use flash and leap into the cave, closing the distance between me and their small pack in an instant.
As expected, the kids run away after a bellowing roar from the father, hurling themselves into the woods as fast as their little legs could take them.
Just before I can reach the father, the mother hurls themself in the way of my dagger, allowing the father to jump over her and come down with his maw poised straight at my head.
Thanks to flash I was able to make it away just in time, but not before the father repositioned himself and ran at me at near breakneck speeds.
As I put my dagger up to counter their speed, they dodged to the side and lept forward once again.
Knowing I couldn't dodge nor block and didn't have enough strength to parry, I let them bite into my side and, despite wavering due to the pain, pierced the wolf's skull, soon after his brain.
Despite it dying, its teeth had dug deep enough as to where they were still hanging inside my body, I rip the recently passed wolf's jaws out of my jugular andfall to the ground...
I wince in pain and take a healing potion out of my inventory, guzzling it like a cactus during a rainstorm
After regaining enough of my conscience I cast light heal twice with the remaining two mana I had..
After lying on the ground for a couple minutes, the potion mixed with the heals had enough of an effect to close the majority of wounds, leaving a couple light marks and small bloodied gaps in just skin but removing all the flesh wounds, the light bleeding could be handled when I regen some mana.
I sit up and look through the various blue screens the system came up with during the fight-

Interesting, so every time I level up I gain; one point to all my stats individually, 3 undistributed stat points and a single undistributed skill point.
Stat points are pretty self explanatory, skill points probably just increase the strength of one of the skills, or increases my control or understanding of the skill.
I'll probably put the stat points all into mana, considering its my main limitation at the moment, as for the skill points, I'll rest for a little and think about it after...
