In the icy seawater, Charles, clad in a diving suit weighing over two hundred pounds, stood within the underwater ruins of SITE6, watching the cleanup operation unfold before him.
One steamboat after another chugged over to the surface of SITE6, their smokestacks billowing white. Slowly, they dropped anchor, serving as cranes to hoist away the massive debris from the ruins.
It had been a full month since SITE6 fell silent. Nothing had emerged from within the dense ice since, but Charles's skull was still nowhere to be found.
Fortunately, Sodoma was big enough that, in terms of resources, there weren't any major problems.
"Did they take my skull with them when they disappeared? That doesn't make sense—it's just an ordinary bone. What use would they have for it?" Charles mused to himself from behind the thick glass.
