Chapter 62: Rasengan

"It was so easy! All our Uzumaki clan members managed to pull it off easily," said Maruku happily, her face glowing with pride.

They had just completed the final examination at the academy and every Uzumaki who took part passed with ease. Compared to mastering the Rasengan, the test felt like child play.

Every Uzumaki student had already undergone intense chakra control training under Raiken supervision. From learning Kage Bunshin no Jutsu to wind-style jutsu and most importantly, the Rasengan, each lesson had pushed them further than any ordinary student in academy could imagine.

And Rasengan wasn't just another flashy technique. In Naruto series, It had become legendary, a jutsu recorded throughout shinobi history in a series as one that defeated powerful enemies like Kabuto and even Momoshiki. For the Uzumaki clan, mastering it was a matter of pride and identity because this jutsu was created by Raiken and all of them have wind chakra.

Thanks to their exceptional chakra control training and natural stamina, most Uzumaki could learn Rasengan faster than anyone else if they got a chance to learn Rasengan. But not everyone found it easy at first.

Maruku remembered her early training days vividly and painfully.

"Why is it so difficult?" she grumbled, glaring at the small balloon filled with water in her palm. She tried again, focusing her chakra into the balloon, attempting to make it spin evenly inside. The balloon twitched, shook, but didn't burst uselessly. "It has been 2 days but It still didn't popped… ugh!"

Her frustration echoed through the training ground, Raiken had limit the place of training here because there will be Uzumaki shinobi who will rescue them if they ran out of chakra.

The afternoon sun shone brightly over Uzumaki grounds, where dozens of clan members were training, but Maruku muttering stood out the most.

"Maruku, do you need any help?"

She froze, nearly jumping out of her skin. In her panic, she lost balance and fell backward with a loud thud.

"Arrghhh!" she yelped, scrambling to get up. "C–Clan Leader! I didn't know you were here!"

Raiken chuckled softly and asked her. "Are you alright?"

"Y-Yeah… I'm fine, Clan Leader," Maruku said, rubbing the back of her head, her cheeks turning red in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry, that was my fault," Raiken said calmly. "But since I'm already here, why don't you show me your progress?"

Maruku hesitated for a moment, then sighed. "I've been trying for 2 days and I can't even make the water spin burst the ballon at all."

Raiken nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Show me how you're doing it."

She closed her eyes, focusing her chakra again. The balloon trembled slightly, but instead of spinning and burst the ballon, the chakra flow went wild and it didn't popped.

Raiken crouched beside her. "Your chakra is too unstable. You're forcing it in all directions instead of controlling the flow." He held out his hand, and another balloon formed from the storage scroll. "Look closely."

He channeled his chakra with precision and Maruku watched as the water inside the balloon began to swirl gracefully counterclockwise, then clockwise, before bursting cleanly with a sharp pop.

"The trick," Raiken explained, "is to make the chakra rotate in multiple directions at once, but always under your control. Think of it like water flowing in a whirlpool. You guide the spin, not chase it."

Maruku frowned but nodded. She tried again, focusing her chakra as Raiken instructed. This time, she visualized a whirlpool forming in her mind, calm but powerful. Slowly, the water inside the balloon began to swirl. The rotation stabilized, and after a few seconds, the balloon popped perfectly.

Her eyes widened. "I did it!"

Raiken smiled. "Good. That's step one."

But before Maruku could celebrate for long, Raiken tossed her something else, a small rubber ball.

"Now, this is step two."

Maruku caught it with both hands, blinking. "What's this?"

"The second stage. If the water balloon was easy, this one will be your nightmare," Raiken said with a grin. "Unlike water, this ball is a hundred times tougher. You'll need much more precise control."

Maruku groaned. "You're kidding me…"

"No," Raiken said, smirking. "But I'll give you a tip, use Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. Three clones at once should be enough."

"Three clones?" Maruku repeated in disbelief. "Isn't that too many and why do I need clones?"

"You can handle it," Raiken said confidently. "You're an Uzumaki. Our chakra reserves are more than a normal ninja. The clones will each send an experienced to you and make you learn Rasengan faster."

He paused for a moment and then handed her a strange-looking band. It was marked with glowing blue symbols.

"This is a sealing band, a new invention of our clan. It measures chakra strain. If it turns red, stop immediately. That means your chakra capacity is too low. Push further, and you could die due to chakra exhaustion."

Maruku gulped, staring at the band. "D-Die?!"

"Yes," Raiken said bluntly. "Training can be dangerous if you overdo it. Promise me you'll stop if it turns red."

She nodded quickly. "I promise!"

"Good," Raiken said, smiling. "Now show me what you've got."

Maruku formed the hand seals. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

Two puffs of smoke appeared, revealing two identical clones beside her. Each clone picked up a rubber ball. Together, they began focusing chakra into them, just like Raiken showed earlier.

At first, the balls didn't move. Then small ripples appeared. The sound of faint spinning filled the air. Maruku and her clones gritted their teeth, sweat dripping down their faces. The balls trembled, pulsing with energy and then nothing happen.

Maruku fell to her knees, exhausted and looking helpless. "I can't do it…"

Raiken nodded approvingly. "You see? Your chakra flow is correct but there are no damage on it, the rubber ball is to create a damage."

The sealing band glowing faintly blue and it didn't change colour.

"You've done well, Maruku. Rest for now," Raiken said gently. "Once you master the rubber ball, you'll be ready for the final step, the actual Rasengan."

Maruku grinned, her exhaustion forgotten. "I'll make you proud, Clan Leader!"

Raiken chuckled softly. "You already have."

As he turned to leave, he go to to each student who had difficulty the same tips and trick that he just told Maruku.
