Chapter 61: Graduation
It had been several months since the Uzumaki Clan settled in Konoha and the first batch of Uzumaki students were finally about to graduate from the Ninja Academy.
Among them was Uzumaki Kushina, the fiery girl who once stood out as the only redhead in her class. Now, she was no longer alone. Nine Uzumaki students, including her best friend Uzumaki Maruku, were preparing to graduate together.
Ever since her clan joined her at the Academy, Kushina life had completely turned around. She became more cheerful, laughing often as she spent time with her new friends and family. The classmates who once mocked her with the nickname Red-Hot Habanero no longer dared to say a word. After all, there were now nine more redheads from the same clan — and all of them fiercely protective of one another.
Meanwhile, things were different for Namikaze Minato. He had quietly developed feelings for Kushina, drawn to her fiery personality that perfectly contrasted his calm, gentle nature. Maybe it was because opposites attract, where Minato was calm like water, Kushina burned like fire. Together, they created a balance neither understood yet.
However, after Maruku told the clan about how Kushina had been treated before, the Uzumaki members began to look at Minato with less warmth. To them, no amount of good looks could excuse standing by while their clanmate was bullied.
When Raiken heard these reports, he merely smiled.
"That Minato guy suddenly wants to talk to me," Kushina said one afternoon, folding her arms with a pout. "Can you believe it, brother?"
"Minato? Well, maybe he likes you," teased Raiken, a playful glint in his eyes.
To be honest, Raiken didn't hold a grudge against Minato. The only thing that bothered him was the memory of the future, the foolish decision that would one day lead to Minato sacrificing himself and sealing the Nine Tails inside his own son but that was on original series, right now the butterfly effect had started to occur and he didn't know will Minato become Hokage or not.
Kushina cheeks flushed red. "Hmph! Just him? I'm popular and beautiful! It's not weird that people like me, dattebane!"
"Yeah, my little sister is beautiful," replied Raiken with a chuckle.
"Brother, when will you marry Sister Mikoto?" Kushina asked suddenly. Ever since Mikoto was set to become part of the family, she had started calling her Sister Mikoto affectionately.
"Well," Raiken said, scratching his head, "we're just sixteen now. Maybe in two years, when we're eighteen."
"What? Just get married now, brother! I want her to be my sister soon!" begged Kushina, puffing her cheeks like a child.
Raiken laughed softly before answering, "Kushina, I'll teach you something important. Don't get married too early. A woman body needs time to develop properly. It can be dangerous to have a child too young. Eighteen is an acceptable age for marriage."
"Why eighteen?" Kushina asked curiously.
Hearing that, Raiken recalled something his old teacher once said in his past life:
"Don't commit adultery, it leads to poverty."
At that time, Raiken had asked, "Why, teacher?"
The teacher then showed the class statistics of those who married young out of reckless love, who become pregnant because of stupid decision to commit adultery, many of them ended up living in hardship.
"If you like someone," the teacher had said, "get to know them, understand their family, and when you're both ready, marry properly. There's no need to rush or fall into sin."
Since then, Raiken had lived with discipline, preserving his chastity. But before he could ever find someone in that world, system had thrown him into the Naruto universe and now, he had Mikoto, the best partner he could ever wish for.
If people in his past world know he come to this world and be chosen to marry Mikoto, they might become very jealous, especially those nerds.
How could he possibly complain?
Turning to his sister, Raiken smiled. "Eighteen is the optimal age for a woman reproductive system. Even if you marry at eighteen, you'll likely have your first child around nineteen."
"Brother, how do you even know that?" Kushina asked, wide-eyed.
"Well, it's a long story," Raiken said, trying not to sound too scientific. "A woman's body has something called ovaries. They're healthiest around eighteen. If you marry and have children in your late teens or early twenties, the risk of diseases or complications is much lower."
"What does that mean?" Kushina tilted her head.
"For example," Raiken explained, "if a mother and father has kidney problems or diabetes, her child might have a fifty percent chance of inheriting it. That's why healthy timing is important. Marrying too young or conceiving too early increases risks, sometimes even miscarriages while marrying and conceiving at the right times lower that risks."
Kushina nodded slowly, processing the information.
"So, Kushina," Raiken added with a gentle smile, "if you ever like someone, don't ever do anything reckless. Just tell me who he is, and if he's good enough, I as your brother will do his best for you to get married properly."
Kushina face turned red again. "Brother! You're embarrassing me!"
Raiken laughed softly. "That's what brothers are for."
---Exam Graduation---
"I can't believe this academy requirement to graduate is for students to master three basic jutsu, Kawarimi no Jutsu, Henge no Jutsu and Bunshin no Jutsu," said Maruku, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Yeah, no wonder Brother Raiken secretly teaches us clan techniques," replied Kushina with a small laugh. "I actually feel pity for those civilians who don't have proper teachers. They mocked me so much when I first came here, but now I can't help but feel sorry for them."
Maruku chuckled. "At the very least, they should be learning proper chakra control, like walking on water or climbing walls. I heard that after graduation, each group will be assigned a proper instructor."
Kushina lowered her voice, leaning closer. "My brother said he wants us to stay within the clan and give up our ninja status."
Maruku blinked in surprise and whispered back, "Really? Why?"
"Because our clan doesn't have many members left," Kushina explained softly. "If we become active shinobi, we'll be putting the Uzumaki at even greater risk."
P.S: After my last accident, I got so deep into researching a healthy body, and the information I found online was eye-opening. I feel it's good for others to know too.
......
Hi, this should have been posted yesterday, but I got stuck and ended up postponing it until today. In about three hours, you can expect one more chapter, and tomorrow will be the update for the Dudley fanfiction. The schedule remains the same, although I might not follow reader suggestions for now due to the lack of comments.
Previously, I told you all that this fanfiction would take your comments into account, and I would develop the storyline based on your feedback. However, since not many people are commenting, I have decided to outline everything myself all the way until the ending.
