"Enough!" Ruby Mercer slammed the comforter heavily, even startling Hannah, whose courage had shrunk since the time she was frightened to tears; every scare still casts shadows over her mind.

"Christopher Moore, I might need your help," she said. If the news was just criticizing her, she wouldn't care, but someone intended to ruin her and her children, so she wouldn't sit idle.
