Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Tyang Entertainment Interview Notice

Mr. Scott feared nothing except seeing his daughter shed tears. Hearing her crying on the phone, he naturally softened.

Her mother's death had left a significant shadow in her heart, and as her father, he naturally prioritized comforting his daughter.

"Alright, alright, Dad will listen to you. We won't cooperate with your uncle, okay? Rosie, don't cry, Dad will listen to anything you say."

Rosie finally let out a giggle, "It's a deal then."

A father's phone call can't be filled with sad topics.

Rosie always liked to act spoiled to her father, her voice softening, "Dad, I want to eat sweet and sour fish, caramelized sweet potatoes, and pineapple rice."

"You want to be an actress, you know those people manage their weight with great discipline, neither eating sugar nor salt, but you seem to eat anything."

"That's all thanks to Mr. Scott's good genes, his daughter is naturally beautiful, I won't get fat."

"You have a sweet mouth."

Rosie chatted with her father for more than an hour before Mr. Scott yawned several times and hurriedly hung up the phone.

--

The next day, as dawn broke and soft light spilled over Anderson Castle, Rosie had a restful night after calling her dad.

'Buzz buzz buzz~~~~'

The phone placed under her pillow kept vibrating. The girl groggily reached for her phone without checking who was calling and placed it to her ear.

"Hello~ who is this?"

On the other end was a young woman's voice, "Hello, is this Miss Rosie Scott? Our company saw your resume. There's a role very suitable for you. If you have time, can you come for an audition?"

"Resume, role, audition." Rosie's tightly shut eyes slowly opened. She sat up suddenly and glanced at the phone screen, which showed [Tyang Entertainment].

The girl opened her mouth repeatedly, not knowing what to say.

"Hello? Miss Scott, can you hear me?"

"I can hear you, I can hear you. When should I come for the audition?"

"The sooner the better; I'll send the address to your email."

After hanging up, Rosie still hadn't reacted. She repeatedly looked at the name displayed on the phone, Tyang Entertainment, it really was Tyang Entertainment.

Her favorite actor, Blake Shaw, was from this company. She dreamed of joining this company, and now she received an audition invitation.

The girl clenched her fists, letting out a piercing scream that shot into the sky. She jumped high on the bed saying, "Blake Shaw, I'm coming~"

Rosie opened her wardrobe, tried on more than ten dresses but remained dissatisfied. Finally, she picked out a black swan JK dress; the petite black shirt accentuated her narrow shoulders and slim waist, paired with a black tie, and a pleated skirt below, giving an aura of a dark Gothic girl.

After dressing up, she dashed downstairs. Mr. Gold looked at the fleeting black figure, his old eyes not yet clear, and anxiously shouted after the running figure, "Miss Scott, Second Young Master called you for breakfast, there's fish, sweet potatoes, and pineapple."

She had already run 200 meters away; Mr. Gold, with his unsteady legs, followed a few steps before stopping. Watching the anxious silhouette of the girl, he thought, "Is she going to run? The Second Young Master finally brought her back home, can't let her run."

Thinking of this, Mr. Gold promptly headed to the dining room, leaned close to the second young master, whispering a few words. The man's dark eyes paused, his eyelids lowered, delicately picked up chopsticks and took a piece of sweet and sour fish: the sauce wrapped around the fish was richly coated, tender, sweet and sour on the palate.

Standing aside, Assistant Hugh was a bit puzzled; the Second Young Master preferred plain flavors, usually having porridge for breakfast. Today's spread was: sweet and sour fish, caramelized sweet potatoes, pineapple fried rice; it felt more like lunch.

"Mrs. Dawson, are these dishes not too sweet?" Charles Anderson ate only a few bites, feeling they were overly sweet; for him, such sweet flavors were a bit hard to handle.

Mrs. Dawson walked forward respectfully, her face wrinkled into a smile, "Second Young Master, your daily taste is bland. These dishes are sweet, since you've never tried them, of course they taste overly sweet."

Having barely touched the breakfast, Charles Anderson put down his chopsticks. Mrs. Dawson was attentive; she had already prepared shrimp porridge, carefully placing it on the table, "Breakfast is still crucial; the shrimp porridge is still warm, the Second Young Master should eat some."

The young master held the jade spoon, stirring the shrimp porridge in the bowl. Warm steam rose, looking at the bright orange curled shrimps, yet he had no appetite, placing the jade spoon down, he glanced at Assistant Hugh.

"Second Young Master, any orders?" Assistant Hugh leaning in to listen.

"Alright, understood."

——

The sky was bright, and the sun grew increasingly intense under the summer heat.

Rosie hailed a cab on her phone, waiting impatiently for half an hour with no one accepting, finally adding fifty bucks to the fare and getting a driver.

The girl stood under the tree shade, her black hair wet with sweat, sticking to her neck, using her hand as a fan, until the driver finally arrived.

"Driver, please turn on the AC, it's a bit hot."

"Sorry, no AC in the ride; to turn on the AC, it'll be five bucks more." The driver remained indifferent.

The girl's door shutting action paused, she blinked at the driver, "Driver, doesn't your conscience hurt? I already added fifty bucks to the fare."

"AC costs five bucks."

"I... fine, five bucks, I can afford." If not for the upcoming audition, she wouldn't spend five bucks on AC, thinking it somewhat absurd.

An hour's journey finally brought her to the base of Tyang Entertainment.

The girl alighted, staring dazedly at the vast naked-eye 3D screen above, showing the glowing moments of popular actors. Standing beneath the immense building, she felt like an ant, as if the entire structure, like a giant, loomed over her. That sense of pressure made her excited; it was the closest she'd been to her idol.

Ever since high school, watching Blake Shaw's "Ancient Sword Technique," she'd been fond of it. Back then, Blake Shaw was a hot commodity across platforms, boosting channels even with a five-minute appearance.

But in a past life, when Rosie learned abroad, a superstar had fallen, all because he had a relationship which led to his drastic drop in followers. At that tough time Rosie heard such news, feeling both happy and sad.

Happy for the idol finding someone to love and wanting a life they wished for, sad with a hint of heartache, as if the pure being in her mind had been sullied.

A star's love affair merely faded his popularity, the true downfall came when Blake Shaw's girlfriend was exposed in scandals, seemingly being targeted, with past photos of drinking with directors, accompanying them to hotels for roles revealed one by one.

An emperor of the silver screen fell because of a woman.

Within a month, Blake Shaw suffered from depression, losing thirty pounds.
