"Abaddon…" Eric called out, but before he could say anything more, his phone rang.Aiden's name flashed across the screen.
Eric answered immediately, ready to scold him for lying causing misunderstanding—but the sharp crack of gunshots on the other end made his whole body freeze.
"Aiden…" The anger in his voice vanished, replaced instantly by fear. "Aiden, can you hear me?"There was no response.
"Young master…" A weak, trembling voice finally came through.
"Aiden!" Eric shouted.
"Aamon… he got shot… I—I don't know what to do…" Aiden's voice broke as he spoke, unable to control his panic.
"Aiden. Listen to me," Eric said firmly, trying to calm him. "Take a deep breath. Are you in a safe place right now?"
"Yes…" Aiden whispered.
"Good. Can you tell me how many men are there?"
"More than ten… all armed." Aiden forced the words out, giving whatever little information he could.
