With the anticipation of seeing her son in twenty-four hours, Elise Don went to the guest room and tidied up once more.
This was the sixth time she had done so.
The little crib was newly bought. Elise had already wiped it down in advance and aired it out. The hand-washed little pillow and blanket were pastel blue, emanating the scent of baby soap, with a faint hint of milk.
At the head and foot of the bed, she hung a fluffy unicorn each.
To facilitate feeding and changing diapers at night, the guest room was also equipped with a temporary night light. Elise had spent a long time selecting a light that wasn't too harsh at the home furnishings store.
When she was in Northern City waiting to give birth, she hadn't picked out baby items so meticulously. But after coming to Paris, her love for her child surged more than ever.
Elise would often regret exchanging her child for freedom, at times impulsively wanting to buy a ticket and fly back to Northern City.
