Jane could not believe how well her life has turned out to be. Not only is she married to the love of her life. She also found Cassie again, her best friend.
She kept stealing glances at Christopher. Sitting there at the table and watching everyone eat is the most perfect scene she has ever witnessed in her life.
"Thank you for coming into my life Chris, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me." Jane whispered into Chris's ear, and he couldn't bring himself to resist her. Rather he kissed her on the lips.
"Listen I know you both are married. But you need to take it easy, okay?" Grace pouted her mouth and everyone laughed.
"Well I'm not the only one who has a woman here. Jack also has Cassie." Chris said and Jane's eyes widened with shock.
"Really my friend?" Jane asked Cassie and Cassie nodded her head.
"Yes Jane. Let's just say he's the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm grateful that he came into my life. He saved me, along with your husband." Cassie explained and Jane just couldn't take it all in.
"So you have been around me all these while?" Jane asked her.
"Isn't she the friend you have been searching for all these while?" Grace asked, and Jane nodded her head.
"Yes Grace, she's the one." Jane replied even though she still felt awkward about calling Grace by her name.
"You have no idea how much we have looked for you. We even hired a private investigator, but we didn't find much." Grace said and cassie felt touched by that fact that Jane never forgot her.
Chris stopped eating as soon as he heard that. He remembered what the woman they met at the alley the other day said, as well as the doctor.
They had said someone came asking the same question. It must have been Jane and Grace, who went to the hospital that day.
If he and Jack had been there a few minutes earlier. They would have encountered them, and the truth would have been exposed a long time ago.
Jack watched carefully as Chris's demeanor changed when Jane spoke. He has been thinking about what happened at the hospital last night. And he can swear that Chris must have done something wrong.
He seems to be hiding some secret he's afraid of Jane finding out.
It must have something to do with that necklace. Hence the reason why he asked them not to say anything to Jane.
He would have to find out the truth from Mrs Whitney. She's the only one who would tell him the truth.
"Jack and I have only had two encounters. If I had known he knew you, I would have come to you right away." Cassie explained.
"Two encounters, and you both are so in love? I see the way you two have been stealing glances at each other. It's really crazy to see." Jane said, and Cassie could not help but blush.
She has never fallen in love with a man. But this time, she feels so complete. And she will never let go of this precious thing she has found.
"Yes! We are so in love." Jack affirmed.
They all finished their food and made their way to the sitting room to discuss more. Jane was so eager to hear from cassie. She was so excited that she couldn't even eat.
"I met your son Jane. How did that happen?" Cassie asked, and Jane heaved a deep sigh. She looked around, and the only people who didn't know what happened to her were Jack and Chris.
She wanted to tell Chris last night, so she's sceptical on whether or not to share what happened to her in the presence of everyone. She doubted Chris would be happy to find out his wife was hurt in the past like this.
"That night you left to go get medicine for my foot. Something bad happened. Mrs Whitney found me and took me to the hospital." Jane's face fell, but she quickly smiled to mask the pain she felt.
"When I woke up, I searched for you everywhere. I even went back to the alley you left me. I went to the orphanage, I searched everywhere, but you were nowhere to be found." Jane explained.
"Something terrible happened? What happened? I came back in the morning to look for you. The pharmacy and stores aren't open yet so there was nowhere to get the drugs you needed. So I didn't have a choice but to wait till they opened." Cassie began explaining.
"I came as soon as I got them, but you were no more there. I asked around, but no one had seen you. I stuck around for weeks hoping to run into you with no luck. Then I met this lady that brought me abroad to work. But I never stopped thinking about you Jane." Cassie said and stood up.
Jane and Cassie hugged each other and cried on each other's shoulders. How much they missed each other.
"We still have a lot of catching up to do. But now I have to leave you with your husband. I heard you just got married yesterday." Cassie said and Jane nodded.
"Yes, it was more like a surprise wedding." Jane said.
"How is Mrs Whitney?" Chris asked all of a sudden
