The seventh day of the New Year, the day work resumes.
Before 8:30, Eva Ronan walked into the office of NobleCore Technologies.
Her assistant brought her a black coffee, opened the memo, and briefed her on today's schedule.
"There's a lunch meeting with the CEO of Taihe Group at noon, and at three in the afternoon..."
Eva took a sip of coffee, feeling the familiar bitterness spread across her taste buds. She frowned, interrupting her assistant, "Who arranged the lunch meeting with the Taihe CEO?"
The assistant paused and explained, "You asked me to arrange it before the holiday, saying you wanted to discuss next quarter's cooperation plan with them."
"Really?"
Eva gazed out the window, clearly having no recollection of the matter.
The assistant nodded affirmatively, cautiously observing her expression, feeling that the usually decisive businesswoman seemed out of sorts.
Eva waved her hand, signaling the assistant to leave.
