"Polly Sutton, are you insane?"
If I hadn't stopped in time, she'd be lying in a hospital by now.
Does this woman have any brains at all?
Polly Sutton was suddenly stunned by the shouting. From her recent interactions, she could tell if Victor Parker was truly angry. And right now, he was genuinely mad.
We were just starting. Even if I braked hard, she wouldn't be hurt, would she? Why get so angry?
Rich people sure are delicate, all afraid of dying.
"I'm going with you to M Country." Polly Sutton didn't have time to care about his anger and blurted out the main reason she came running down.
She was already sweating from the run, her words coming out in pants.
Victor looked at the panting Polly Sutton, rolled up the car window, and had Andrew Lindsey drive.
"Hey..." Polly watched Victor leave, kicked the air, and said, "Are men all petty like this?"
Victor was so angry with her that his head hurt. He'd never seen such a troublesome and brainless woman.
How did she manage to live this long?
Andrew Lindsey also found it amazing; every time after the boss met Miss Sutton, he would be too angry to speak, yet every time he insisted on seeking her out. Isn't that just weird?
But he wouldn't dare voice this thought.
Polly Sutton didn't know if Victor agreed or not, but his final look seemed like he wanted to eat her.
After returning, Polly contacted Mr. Walker and talked about what happened earlier.
"I don't think Victor Parker really intends to invite investments; it's just to pull down his third uncle. So we don't need to proceed further."
"I've mentioned the Parker Family's situation before. To break through, the Parker Corporation has two options: create another tale as captivating as Qushui Liushang, or innovate beyond the traditional style. Victor Parker might be looking for emerging designers because he wants such a break, as Qushui Liushang is entirely a thing of the past."
Polly slouched back in her chair, looking at the design sketch in her sketchbook, reflecting only a corner of a roof beam, yet so complex.
"I've checked all of the Parker Corporation's architectural hotels and resorts, which cover almost all popular elements from ancient and modern, domestic and international; seeking innovation is nearly impossible." So Victor's betting agreement is likely to lose.
Polly rocked her chair, gazing at the ceiling, "The Parker Corporation has gathered all the popular elements. If we go against the grain and find a new angle among the non-popular elements, perhaps we'll have a different result?"
Speaking of this, Polly suddenly put her chair down, "I know now."
She figured out how to design it.
While Polly was opening up her mind on this side, little Benny was a bit hesitant on the other; his boyfriend suddenly becoming her husband, an illegitimate child suddenly turning into a legitimate one—the root of the problem changed.
It's no longer a breakup issue.
"Benny, what's wrong?" Little Tommy noticed his brother seemed unhappy, left his other friends, and came over to keep him company.
Little Benny looked at his clueless brother, "Don't meet that uncle anymore in the future. We need to listen to mommy."
"But didn't you say if we met that uncle, we'd get delicious food? And that uncle also promised us." Little Tommy didn't want to give up his treats; mommy never let him eat that much.
"Don't you listen to mommy?" Little Benny mentioned mommy, and Little Tommy immediately behaved because mommy was more important than food.
Seeing his brother obey, Little Benny felt at ease.
Nearing the end of school, Little Tommy suddenly had a stomachache. The teacher took him to the bathroom, while Little Benny sat outside playing with his Lu Ban Lock as he waited for his brother to come out.
Victor Parker, with pastries in hand, walked in and noticed Little Benny playing with the Lu Ban Lock. For a moment, this surprised him a bit, because Little Tommy's intelligence really...
Little Benny, feeling someone's presence, looked up and was visibly stunned when he saw Victor Parker, his dazed expression much like Little Tommy's.
Little Benny moved his small lips. Soon he spoke sweetly, "Is uncle here to see Tommy?"
Victor placed the pastry box beside him. Seeing that the staff around realized the child knew this person, they felt relieved and continued with their work.
"I promised to bring you delicious food." Victor squatted down and patted his little head, "Are you playing with the Lu Ban Lock?"
Out of Victor's sight, Little Benny noticeably rolled his eyes, but when he turned back, he wore a surprised look, "Wow, thank you, uncle. Bye, uncle."
Victor raised his eyebrows slightly. Was he being asked to leave?
Little Benny kept glancing at the bathroom, hoping he'd leave soon. If not, his brother would come out any second now.
Victor looked at the time, wanting to say something more, but Andrew Lindsey came in to remind him the meeting was about to start. Victor wanted to ask if he'd been to the Parker place but held back and had to leave.
Little Benny let out a small sigh of relief, terrified.
Little Tommy emerged from the bathroom, clutching his little tummy and looking pitiful, "Benny, my tummy hurts."
"You ate too many little cakes. Just don't eat them, and you'll be fine." Little Benny went over to hold his brother's hand, glanced back at the pastry box, "Teacher, there's a little cake from an uncle for you. Granny is coming to pick us up. Goodbye, teacher. Brother, say bye to the teacher."
Little Tommy, led by his brother, weakly waved his hand, leaning against his brother's shoulder, "Bye-bye, teacher."
The suddenly gifted teacher: "..."
Little Tommy was out of sorts; even the little cakes couldn't cheer him up now.
When they got home, he started pestering mommy for cuddles and kisses.
Polly Sutton held him and comforted him while asking Little Benny, "What did he eat? Why did he suddenly have a stomachache?"
Little Benny put his backpack away and looked at his whimpering brother, "Little cakes, given by someone else. He ate too much."
"I didn't eat too much." Little Tommy, still crying, remembered to refute his brother.
Little Benny glanced at him without comment and continued solving his Lu Ban Lock.
Polly tutted, pinching Little Tommy's chubby cheek, "When there's good food, don't you think of mommy?"
Little Benny looked at mommy. Is that the important part?
"The delicious ones were from that rich..."
"Mommy, do we need to take brother to the hospital?"
"No, don't go to the hospital." Little Tommy instantly forgot what he wanted to say, fussing on Polly, adamant about not going to the hospital, "Injections, not going to the hospital."
Polly cuddled him, coaxing, "Will you still dare to eat alone in the future?"
Little Tommy snuggled in mommy's arms, whimpering pathetically.
"Mommy, are you going out again?" Little Benny noticed mommy's suitcase by the wall and asked.
But he remembered mommy saying she wouldn't be going out recently.
